So... this is where it all began... the Frantic Four...
From the bluesy chug of Umleitung to the nice little ditty that is NaNaNa, this album is fuckin' great from start to end. Almost flawless, with the only thing letting it down being the NaNaNa extractions.
This one is really tough, so it's an 8.5 from me.

A Piledriver(10/10) type production would have helped...big leap from this to Piledriver, still a bit 'pop group' in places.

8.75 out of 10 - including the NaNaNa extractions. It doesn't get the 9 or 9.5 out of 10 that Piledriver does because the album was constructive work in progress towards the blazing full product and success with Piledriver and the festivals and gigs in 72.
Also half a point is taken away because there is one song on the album I skip which is Need Your Love.
Overall though its an album of wonderful carefree and no nonsense jamming that earned its placed from mirroring in the studio the raw abrasive attitude to live gigs - and is a million light years away from the sterile over predictability of the CQ stage act that has kept worsening to a peak here at the end of 2015
Edit: Skip the second para - brain malfunction. It was Ma Kelly...
Make it 9/10 then...

Hey, QQ1, when you get past Back to Back, are you going to need to refer to Wikipedia or will you know the order of the albums? Ah, I'll need to see when I get to that point...

Nine. It would have been ten, but for the Nanana extractions. This. Without a doubt

To be honest no. Then read it back and thought why not.

10 A truly classic album. I can't disagree with the Allmusic review, "...never again were they going to sound as innovative and inventive as they sound here." This is the one album that's genuinely grown on me over the years. For years I never really got Umleitung. I know think it's one of the bands best songs - almost hypnotic in it's simple brilliance. Someone's Learning is stunning. Unlike many other hardcore fans, I love nanana and Gerdundula. Mean girl is close to perfection, and Railroad is classic Quo. SGOIMY is fab It's diverse, original, totally in a bag it's own, criminally underrated....yet still very much 100% Quo Love it now more than ever. Yeah, the nanana extractions used to annoy me and force me to lift up the needle....but I'm not 12 anymore If I had to chose one Quo album to win over a doubter (who otherwise has great taste in music), I'd make em listen to this. This is one seriously cool album...it's the dogz!

Umleitung is their sexiest song - maybe their only one...? The FF didn't do sexy songs. They did some rock songs about sex.

9/10. Only discovered it a few years back and was astonished as to how good it was. Someone's Learning one of their best ever.
