... You have seen Francis Rossi and a group of musicians playing Quo material ... Nail on head. It's Quo music. There's little enough of it about.

Going to see Quo without Rick is like going to see Eric Clapton without Eric Clapton. Agreed, if I hadn't already had a ticket I probably wouldn't have bothered. Did the cheap 20 quid tickets not come on the market after the parfitt illness?

Yes and No. The tickets were originally listed on the discount site Itison in February - well before Rick's illness. They were listed for a second time at the start of July when Rick was recovering and just after it was confirmed that Freddie and Richie Malone would be substituting for Rick at gigs.

I got a £20 ticket for Kew Gardens last year or whenever it was, special offer from a London newspaper, flagged up by soneone on here. Rick was definitely there.

There is plenty of Eric Clapton stuff I like. But what is it about the live gigs through the years? Eric Clapton live is like Joe Bonamassa live. All the guitar solos waffle on for 20 minutes and all sound the same
Perhaps its more accurate to say JB is a tribute act to Eric Clapton. I tried telling my ex that. He wasn't happy.

That put a smile on my face. Recently JB was confronted in an interview with the statement that he appeared more like EC at 70 rather than a young gun at the peak of his powers (on the previous tour) - technically brilliant but rather static on stage. I don't think he liked that. But I think the days of 20-min Clapton solos are long gone, and what I've seen from him on DVDs etc. looked quite respectable.

Agreed, if I hadn't already had a ticket I probably wouldn't have bothered. I'd have flogged it to some unsuspecting ringpiece for face value. "I'd have flogged it to some unsuspecting ringpiece for face value." That's not original. It's a quote from Rupert and Podgy's shop adventure.
