It was ripped off and if i recall correctly the case got settled. It’s now an Aussie anthem- everyone knows it and has add ons :” no way eff off get effed”!! Indeed - I was being a tad facetious I'd love to see Quo Connection attempt a mash up of the two songs. I mentioned it to Mick after a recent gig & apparently it's been suggested before. It'd certainly add something something to the set that nobody else has, so who knows? btw the crowd interjection is as follows: That’s a brilliant Tshirt. An Aussie i worked with had no idea about the connection. She was gobsmacked when i told her

The chorus to Fakin the blues, not the lyrics but the lingo to how it would sound instrumentaly is identical to a section on Elton John's I guess that's why they call it the blues, I think its the little section done on the harmonica.
If you play I guess that's why they call it the blues, at 2.50 minutes into the song, it sounds like who's Fakin the blues chorus instrumentaly.

The verse melody in 'I Don't Wanna Hurt You Anymore' reminds me of a bit in 'Technicolour Dreams'

Also Throw her a line was copied from Roxy Music Virginia Plain.
About half way through the Roxy Music song there are the lyrics: Throw me a line, I'm sinking fast, and the music is simular to Throw her a line.

I always start whistling the solo to "Lazy poker blues" and end up with "Spinning wheel blues"

I always start whistling the solo to "Lazy poker blues" and end up with "Spinning wheel blues" I can start with Spinning Wheel Blues and can end up almost anywhere within the Quo canon.

I'm too scared to listen to it again to check, but there's a bit of Ain't Complaining which reminded me of Pink Cadillac.

In a live situation, when Paper Plane has built up to speed just before the verse kicks in, you can sing Down Down deeper and down to it
