Kinda like it still after all the years - it always sounds better in real life than it does in my memory (?🤷♂️👀?) Certainly heard much worse from ‘them’ - whoever ‘them’ is!

Interesting one this. For those of us of a certain vintage. Ask anyone who joined the party at the Dog/Piledriver stage. We didn't know it at the time but this was THE line in the sand. Well before Rockin' was given the accolade of having changed everything. It was the first Quo single I'd bought that I thought was OK. Not brilliant or amazing as usual. Just half decent. But it was still the end of what had been. The bottom of the page before the new chapter. That's the rub, if it had been a one off, well, OK. A pretty decent single but, although hints had been there of Side 2 of On The Level (which is two tracks too long IMHO), from Mystery Song to this is like two different bands, then another band turned up the following year.

Really like it, often forget about it as it's not on ab album. The intro is brilliant, the solo nicely different
Totally understand the comments from the first generation of fans. One of my first albums was 12 gold bars. This was just another hit and of course I had no concept of time.
I think for fans that Quo made after raotw, the first shock was margarita time. It certainly was for me

Johnnie Walker played this last Sunday, on his BBC RADIO 2, Sounds Of The 70s show.

I always thought "All through the night" was a much better song!

I loved it and still do,however it marked the steady decline of a once busy and hardworking band.
They had simply run out of ideas and steam.

I don’t get this one. I never really think of it when I think of quo. It’s the same 4 bars repeated over and over and over

Don't mind it but it's one of the few Quo singles I don't go back to much. I preferred it as a short snippet in the medley. I think it sounded and worked better like that. I guess it led the way for what was to come so, for that reason alone, it doesn't feature highly on my fave list. 7 years later they released Margie and my world caved in!

Rod Stewart`s version is better has a bit more balls about it, always thought the Quo version was lightweight pop basically, b-side was miles better
