Thanks for sharing! Some great comments about Alan and John and interesting that both chose Rick songs from their favourite albums (Rain & Mystery Song & Little Lady).

Decent review & some good topics talked about. Pete Kerr from Australia often gets on Pete Pardow’s Sea of tranquility channel in New York & often review Quo. Hard call for my only desert island Quo studio album. My top 3 would be 1. On the level 2. Piledriver & 3. Quo. On the level would just edge it as it’s got balance & more light & shade. This was Quo’s classic era no doubt about that 👍

Nice review, really enjoyed this. Now for the desert island top 3, here it is :
1. Quo 2. Blue for You 3. On the Level
Needless to say, that could easily be all different in 24 hours...:-)

Hmm tricky(ish) one.. I’ll go for 1. Hello 2. Quo 3. Any one from ‘Dog..’ , Piledriver, BFY, NTL (& sometimes, OTL)
(or just ‘Live’ and ‘Quo’ and I’m happy 👍)

If there was one album that I would say sums up Quo it would have to be Hello. It has it all on there.

Enjoyed that
I like the idea of 3 albums to represent a band, but that's not enough for Quo
Hello is a great shout but misses the hard rock attack of Alan. We get that and then some with Quo. OTL perfectly shows most of the other elements of classic Quo
But then the simplicity of Piledriver - and the quality of its stripped back down tempo songs is another thing. Then you've got the quirky side, the stoned side and the creative side that's found on MKGS and Dog.
For the best sound I'd go with BFY
So really I'm back to thinking all the albums from mkgs to bfy are just totally essential if you want all the best ingredients of Quo.
What other band needs 6 albums to showcase what it can do? Not bad for a band so lambasted for all sounding the same

Hello!
As Bob Young once noted, "possibly the Quoest of Quo albums".

Deep in my heart I think I agree wit Bob. After all what other album has Roll Over and 4500 Times on it?
OTOH, on Piledriver, it almost stretches the more unusual side of Quo to the limits, with A Year, All the Reasons (the peepiest ballad ever recorded by anyone) and Oh Baby.
So I remain split two ways.
