Heard a rumour that Simon is no longer managing the band, just wondering if anyone else had heard the same?

Heard a rumour that Simon is no longer managing the band, just wondering if anyone else had heard the same? he hasnt been managing them since after the 2022 tour, from memory. He still clears releases, but other than that - nothing. Francis is in charge, id assume with Andy Brooks and Lyanne

The official website mentions Neil Warnock (no, not that one ) and the Agency Group of Companies with Chris Hewlitt handling publicity.

Hah, what with some management decisions over the years it may as well be ‘that’ Neil Warnock! 🤪

Interesting development I suppose. Not knowing Simon as a person or as a manger, can only speak from a fan on the outside looking in perspective, but came across as a steady eddie, did what was required with a vintage big name band, didn't seem to rock the boat at all & knew which way around the board to go etc. I would imagine a lot of Status Quo, like lot's of other "companies" or "brands", whether we like it or not, that's what they are or have become, takes care of itself to some degree, meaning it would take a nursery child to cock things up in a big & damaging way. Whether this loses any contacts or closes certain doors & relationships that Simon himself helped open up or develop, I don't know. I would think the name itself & the longevity of the name get's you to areas & people cut off to others regardless who the manager is. I guess it's a lot to do with how you deal with people who need to be dealt with behind the scenes & keeping the profile of the band in the spotlight & in a positive way. Rossi might be winding down a bit, but there is still obvious demand for Quo & one thing Simon said on one of the doc dvds, was something like "never underestimate your legacy", well if Quo's is simply making millions of people past, present and in future, tap their feet, nod their head, smile & be happy, then that's not a bad one to leave. I'm still hoping for a new album from this line up, so I hope it's not the end 100%, can't leave it at Backbone can they? Rossi seems to like a challenge, in interviews etc he's said a few times about if you tell him he can't do something, then he will try and do it. So I'll try it, I bet you can't come up with a new Quo album as good as this vinyl effort below: Side ACaroline Roll Over Lay Down Little Lady Most Of The Time Mystery Song Forty-Five Hundred Times Side BBackwater Just Take Me Railroad Unspoken Words Hold You Back Don't Waste My Time Riffs galore, great driving sound & rhythm, bounce, single material, mix of rock & blues with the lighter notes of Unspoken Words for balance.

Long solo's over the top,a well organised back line and a show based on hard running and set pieces. Somethings Going Over My Head Don't Waste Half Time

I think it was his intervention that eventually led to the FF shows, good on him for that.

If I remember correctly in the bottom right corner was a blank one with a question mark in. Could that have been a hint at a new album? I should have taken a picture but didn't!

I do remember the album cover background but we were sat quite far back, and I didn't notice that. Thanks for sharing.

I've taken a screenshot from this video. There is indeed a "missing square" but also stuff out of order - live albums in front of the studio albums they followed and that mysterious right side column. Maybe they didn't want to have too many live albums or compilations right next to each other? Either way, I would not be surprised at all if the 2024 tour included a new song or two like the tour before Backbone did.
