Just a few days late with this one... "On 21st September 1991, Status Quo made music history and played 4 shows across 4 different UK cities in less than 12 hours. A total of 40,000 fans saw Quo at sell-out shows in Sheffield, Glasgow, Birmingham and London’s Wembley Arena where the band secured entry into Guinness World Records. The event remains a highlight of Quo’s illustrious career. The shows raised over £200,000 for charity - split between Nordoff Robbins, Brits Performing Arts and local charities." Not long after the event, work began on piecing together highlights from the event for 3 separate broadcasts / releases - Record Breakers (Highlights) - 26th September 1991, Channel 4 Documentary (Rock Til You Drop) - 5th October 1991, and the Home-Video Release (The Live Event) - 28th October 1991. Record Breakers
Channel 4 Documentary (Rock 'til You Drop)
Home-Video release (The Live Event)

Just had a quick look at the rold clip
It's easy forget just how much onstage energy the band had at that time. The gigs were brilliant on that tour

MTV Report - 22nd September 1991
(footage is from Glasgow / Wembley shows) Nice, footage of all of them sharing the same towels. I wonder if they do the same thing as in the 70s after the interviews...

I just wish they'd have filmed a full gig on the Rock 'Til You Drop tour, not the 4 gigs in one day tour. The setlist was great and the band were on fire.
The late Pat Marks (Lightning Designer) told me on that tour that they recorded every show from the mixing desk, for the bands own personal use, I never found out if that was 100% true, I just took him at his word.
Would be great if it were true and someone could get access to them.

It was recorded to a reel to reel, but there's also a DAT copy. Just a live mix, so no further remixing / tweaking can be done - just remastering. Fairly decent recording, but it cuts in during the 1st verse of Down Down. Probably forgot to start the tape
