For those that can never pick the bass out of a song (I know there are a few!), this highlights Alan's great bass work and how it was a crucial aspect of the classic Quo sound. One of my go-to vids on YouTube! Another good one by the same bloke: I'd like to see him do WYW, Rain, Living On an Island or Break The Rules.

One of my go-to vids on YouTube! Another good one by the same bloke: I'd like to see him do WYW, Rain, Living On an Island or Break The Rules. Am a bit late to this, but,.. The bass on Living on an Island is very very well done, I'm just an old guitarist, but I've listened to the bass in thay track 100s of times, just outstanding. An incredibly underrated bassplayer, that made the difficult look easy. I Miss Alan still.

Two years ago now. Where is the time going.... The Press focussed on the double act of Frame and Rick, but without Alan, things would have been very different. RIP Nuff.

Beautiful photo. Well remembered. RIP Alan. 1976. Our boys were in their prime! Our boys. Sounds like the headlines of The Sun before Thatcher sent them all off to the Falklands But, you're right; 1976 may well have been their prime. He was 27 in that photo. So, logic dictates that I was in my prime when I went to Milton Keynes to see them but he was past his. So much for logic RIP, Mr Lancaster.

I'm glad I saw Alan for the last time in 2019 at Minehead, to shake his hand and thank him for being a part of my favourite band.

Toni Lancaster has posted some great footage on FB . A bit of 70's FF with Alan singing Backwater/ Just Take Me. Brilliant.
I dont have the skill to post it on here but a great watch.

It's this from the Jazz Bilzen festival, 14th August 1976. Dubbed with audio from the Live! album, as it's silent 8mm film
