Francis delving even deeper in to Irish country-esque pish I see. Having listened to the album a couple of times I'd argue it isn't "country-esque pish" at all. Whilst probably not my favourite genre of music it's credible stuff. I've heard a lot worse. "Last Man Standing" is particularly good.

I'm not one for pigeonholing if I can help it but maybe melodic rock or some such would be a bit closer. It's not a bad album actually. Not one I'd play over and over or even all the way through but half decent 👍

Hi Jason, fantastic re-release. Well done👍 Any chances to get the license for a CD release of the Partners In Crime 1985 Album „Organised Crime“ with John Coghlan? That would be great and high on my wish list. Cheers from Hamburg ☀️🍻 Thanks! Licencing from major labels isn't part of my business model. And with it being 37 years old and only mastered for vinyl/tape, never CD, I think it would be prohibitively expensive to attempt. Maybe a specialist reissue label with experience in this field would like to give it a try I contacted Angel Air, who do this kind of release with acts far less popular than Quo, about the Partners in Crime, Diesel, Parfitt first non-released solo album, Rossi/Frost album and some Lancaster stuff and they thanked me, said they would look into it and then, suddenly, nothing happened. Truth be told, I didn't expect anything from the Rossi & Parfitt stuff but I thought Partners in Crime, Diesel (since released) and Lancaster stuff (Bombers now re-released) might have had some interest. The rights holders are earning nothing from this stuff and I'm sure that the artists would be happy for it to come out (witness Diesel & Bombers). Barrel & Squidger didn't exist when I contacted Angel Air or I would have gone there too. Luke - anything you guys could influence? I don't understand how less successful acts get all kinds of stuff out there but Quo don't. John Eden is involved as well, of course, as producer of Partners in Crime.

I believe they've come to an agreement now, albeit after the event. I pre-ordered it before I knew it was unauthorised and was relieved when the agreement came and, I would expect, those who deserve it get the royalties.

Alan was talking to me about doing a Bombers Anthology box set - the studio album (which he'd bought back all the rights to when A&M Australia shut down), the live album, and another disc of demos and tour rehearsals with himself on lead vocals. So imagine our surprise when Bad Reputation started advertising their own release of his studio album! Yes I do believe that settlement was reached after the fact, but it spoiled Alan's own plans for his own material.

I love Aim High and was excited to hear it remastered. Couldn't tell it was not official. Really annoying if it spoiled an exciting release but I'm sure most fans would still buy the bow. Ty Coates also released a 'Bombers' album too - which I also have.

Here's the promo video for "It's Not Real", written by Lee O'Brien and Francis Rossi. Studio track has Lee on lead vocals, guitar & drums. Francis is on production, lead guitar, bass, keyboards and backing vox. Video was filmed at the album launch gig and has Leon Cave on drums.

Typical Francis solo track production. All those annoying little guitar idiosyncracies you wish he wouldn't do and just be satisfied sounding like a rock guitarist.
