Still getting it in my head years later. I think that's a very good sign. Try not to think "If only they made this in the 90's!".

Always hated the amateurish filming of this. Half decent track deserved more effort.

Always hated the amateurish filming of this. Half decent track deserved more effort. All the tracks taken from the album were filmed in the same way. Can't recall how many. Maybe only two. The gear was presumably already set up for rehearsals. Just get a camera operator in. Although given the smoothness of the shoot, I take it the camera(s) were on runners. Or something. I don't mind it. But pretty much 90% of Quo's videos have been created in this way; faux live. This is why the videos for Accident Prone and Go Go Go stick out like a sore thumb across the decades. As for the track itself, yeah, I like it. I like the whole album. Never tire of it 👍

Very catchy tune to be hummed or sung all day after hearing it in the morning. Quid Pro Quo is full of gems.

Never tire of it 👍 Three songs were released, exactly the same three that were played on the tour, Let's Rock, Two Way Traffic and this. IIRC, this is the only video full with all the shots with color. The other two I think one contains some shots in Black & White and some in color, and the other one, just colored some things. I hate videos changing between B&W and color.

The work of John Keeling was it not? Or he at least 'directed' it?

Oh, about the song. I liked it when it was released and still like it. I thought it would substitute Beginning of the End in the setlist...But I was wrong, I was very wrong.

Lots to like on qpq, sorry can't stand this one! Awful fairground keys. Melody is like a nursery rhyme. One of the worst openings to a Quo song

I haven't heard that for years, but not a bad track. I can't stand any of the album after the first 2 songs though.

Not sure I should comment but..why not!!
Hate the intro, don't mind the tune. I always compare more modern day tracks to the dirge of the 80's and 90's hence why I don't mind this. Ain't great but ok.
Now its the video I really hate. The happy chappy, have a mess around, school yard funnies, everything has to be silly content really gets me going. Just why oh why? Everyone just looks so dumb and I can't take the music seriously - obviously don't want us to. Lets Rock and Two Way Traffic were done in same vein. TWT is a great number, class rockin track but again relies on the funnies to sell it.
I just don't get this happy chappy persona they seem to have gone with for decades. Status Quo meets Bucks Fizz! Dumb and unnecessary.

Dumb and unnecessary. I've often wondered about that over the years. I'm used to it now and don't really bother but I did envy how other acts approached their music. And still do I guess. Quo would always be on Des O'Connor, Michael Barrymore, The One Show or Good Morning. Or some afternoon nonsense. I'd have loved them to appear on Jools Holland or some such just showing what they could actually do in a live setting. The One And Only is the only time I can remember them getting close to that approach. But I guess maximum exposure to what you might call middle of the road audiences has been the deliberate policy for a very long time now. And I don't suppose it's done any harm to their bank balance. And David Walker or Simon Porter can't take all the blame for it. This started way back in the 80's. 40 years of light entertainment programmes. No wonder I missed so many TV appearances. I'm only seeing them now on YouTube

I think we all live in hope that they will lean back towards the more credible end of the spectrum.
They do, and then they don't, and then they do again, then they don't, etc. etc.
Once they have finished up for good, i might attempt an appraisal of the situation, but i'm just still not sure until the picture is complete.
Tempted to say though, that we really can't underestimate (at least in the Rossi/Parfitt days) the lengths they would go to, for whatever reason, to take the piss out of themselves - almost to create some sort of curiosity - are they serious, or are they not? Whatever it was, it worked wonders for them when their artistic credibility was questionable, but will have also cemented the impression of the four of them as a solid group, though it became clear in latter years it was Rossi and Parfitt who would stop at very little to pimp themselves - Alan wasn't allowed in on that public image, or just couldn't be part of the "act".
Entirely possible that they were encouraged in this way too. Someone in the business saw the pair as a marketing dream.
