Draining. Not good enough to knock Slade Wizard Wham et al out of the stndard list . Just another attempt by frankly what has become a shadow of itself band.

MINORITY I meant Well, if the minority is really small, monority sounds apt.

Ok, here goes. I admit that when I first heard this song I hated it. Now after all these years and with everything that's been going on Worldwise and Quowise recently,I still hate it!

It's fine - people sing along and it's catchy. Hear it in Australia more than some big hitters Xmas songs, like Elton and Wizzard.
Just meant to be fun so in this miserable world why criticise?

Oh, if we must It brings out the Scrooge in me. Like Christmas jumper day or Big Issue sellers from Armenia with Santa hats shouting 'ho ho ho' before taking to their prayer mats Didn't Nick come from Turkey originally? Neighbours then! I wonder what he thinks about all this snow.
PS it's an OK song to hear among all the other Christmas songs playing in the supermarket. Better than many, but not one of the really good ones. Still everyone needs a Christmas song to support their pension fund.

It's a Christmas song. It's not supposed to be musically genius. Very few are. The Pogues, Wham and Chris Rea the obvious exceptions.
I love it and its good for the Christmas season.
Definitely not something to tear apart artistically. One of the better Christmas songs if I'm honest imo

Noddy Holder in The Guardian talking about the yearly seasonal royalties from Merry Xmas Everybody.
“It’s like having a hit record every year. So it’s a nice pension plan, I’ll say that,” Holder smiles. The PRS has quoted £512,000 annually, but the Daily Mail reckons it’s more like a cool £1m."
