Surely the obvious place to start is pre Ma Kelly’s. As it’s so atypical and because of what they were striving for odd and out there man. Black Veils Of Melancholy (Rossi) When The Mind Is Not Live Elizabeth Dreams Gentleman Joe's Sidewalk Cafe Paradise Flats Technicolour Dreams Sunny Cellophane Skies Green Tambourine Face Without a Soul You're Just What I Was Looking For Antique Angelique Poor Old Man Mister Mind Detector Clown Velvet Curtains The weirdest one out of that lot would have to be paradiseflats!

Quite a few years ago my oldest son made a Quo compilation consisting of 4 themes:
Blues, Boogie, Ballads & Bollocks.
You will (may? may not?) agree that the ‘Bollocks’ track listing deserves an honorable mention for Quo’s weirdest compilation album:
Bollocks
01-Nanana – Unreleased
02-Safety Dance
03-Green
04-Heart On Hold
05-Stones
06-Little White Lies
07-Baby Boy
08-Nevashooda
09-Invitation
10-Burning Bridges
11-Lover Of The Human Race
12-Speechless
In case you wonder about the other 3 compilations:
Blues
01-Nanana
02-Good Thinking (Batman)
03-Railroad Part 2
04-Unspoken Words
05-Blue For You
06-Lazy Poker Blues
07-AB Blues
08-In My Chair
09-Bring It On Home
10-Too Close To The Ground
11-Fakin' The Blues
12-Rhythm Of Life
13-Electric Arena
Boogie
01-Nanana
02-Big Fat Mama
03-Blue Eyed Lady
04-Drifting Away
05-Down Down
06-Ring Of A Change
07-Mystery Song
08-Runaway
09-Your Kind Of Love
10-Bad News
11-Is There A Better Way
12-Little Lady
Ballads
01-Nanana
02-All The Reasons
03-Someone Show Me Home
04-For You
05-Rock 'N' Roll
06-Living On An Island
07-In The Army Now
08-Who Gets The Love
09-Restless
10-This Is Me
11-One By One
12-Tongue Tied
I know, I know: some of those tracks on ‘Ballads’ could have just as easily ended up on ‘Bollocks’….
