You're starting to pick the no brainers Classic Quo of course. As already mentioned, when John finishes his drum solo and the band come in to drive it on to the end, it is a masterpiece. Pretty much as good as it gets. By anyone, at any time. Ever. Several bars (and I have no idea how many) of total ecstasy, both in my teens and in the, ahem, autumn of my life A Rossi/Young composition and very probably their finest. No doubt both of them would disagree. Tough. I paid my money and made my choice ’THAT’ part, you mention is simply pedigree Quo. Years ago I mentioned that in a post, and Tʰᵉ Wᵃˡˡ Oᶠ Dᵉᵃᵗʰ was kind enough to send me 3 MINUTES of that pure loud Quo boogie ecstasy so as I could download it onto a CD, which I occasionally play flat out in my car… absolutely joy!

My favourite Quo song along with Down Down in every way superb. Have always wondered if the tapes were sped up A a bit on the intro and some of the solos?

Many people have asked why the band have never played this one in full. Unlike other long songs which have like 4500 times it seems to have a lot of double tracked guitar and various things speeded up so maybe they didn’t think they could do it justice. Many tribute bands do it but probably down to rehearsing and not worrying about the casuals in the audience etc..

Funny thing about this song: around 0:34, you can hear one guitar lick on the right, but there's no response on the left. If you pay close attention (and crank that volume up), you'll actually hear there was supposed to be a lick, but whoever played it (Francis, I assume) probably messed it up at the end, so they muted that track. However, the bleed through the other mics captured it. At least I suppose it's that.

Then again, the way JC comes in, it makes you think

If you don't like Slow Train, you either need an education on the band or, you are a troll

Ah, yes, I noticed that some time ago, but I think it is more of a guitar on another track, who will join just after that. Does not sound like a missing lick to me. To me it's like in Forty-Five Hundred Times, you can hear on the intro that Francis (or Alan) is moving the wire. One thing that I notice very recently is this: Can you hear it? It's Alan at same second that enters the guitar solo saying "I", like if he forgot the solo and begining to sing the verse again "I am just a poor man". He messed up and they just left it. During the lockdown I noticed it, and I've been stuck with that since.

There are other tracks where you can notice some curious things. There are some tracks where you notice the drummers just forgot to play something or wanted to play the hats and played the ride. Nice stuff like that ahah At least it makes the songs sound real and human. And that's cool.
