The whole album has excellent guitar tones and crunch and this track could have been very ordinary without that crunch (and the change of tempo!) and I imagine an alternative guitar tuning is in there which makes for an attractive lilt on the chord changes for guitarists to get stuck in to. A song that should have worked on stage but sounds like it didn't make the grade when they did dust the cobwebs off and give it a go. I went to a gig or two on the Don't Stop Tour but don't remember hearing it being played but perhaps it was a part of a medley or something and over before it got started? I think the song it's in B (or E), and I can hear the BB tunning from Rick. Even in Come Rock with Me on the Moscow video you can see Rick with other guitar (but no the same guitar from Backwater...So it's strange, maybe he don't play it with that tunning live). The song was linked with Roadhouse Blues, but it wasn't from a medley. The two songs were played in a short version (I think one verse from each wasn't sing), and, of course the speed from that era.

The original recording is in the Key of B, and Rick will have most definitely used the BB tuning. The 95 / 96 version was dropped to A, making it easier to segue into Roadhouse Blues. Not a clue what tuning Rick used for this version
