This is an interesting song for me.
For some time was just another song, but like 2-3 years before the Reunion tours, was growing on me. Probably because of I was start playing it with the guitar, but I almost forgot everything of the riffs from the intro. Nowadays it's one of my favorites, not from the album, because it is off the top 3, but favorites.

Basically, one of the all time Quo classics. Revered for decades, certainly by older Quo fans, which is probably why it was included in the reunion set. A personal favourite of mine. In that top 5 easy along with I Saw The Light, showcased earlier in these threads. The Lancaster/Parfitt writing combination came up with several genuinely high quality tracks. They were never credited with writing together again after the Quo album. I know I shouldn't, but I find that extraordinary. Such combined talent disappearing around the same time as the 3-day week and power cuts

Brilliant stuff. I think audience reactions to these songs basically proved that there are/were two different sets of fans. Well, three to be fair. The FF Fans, the fans of later incarnations of the band and, finally, those of us who have been there more or less from the start and enjoy the present Quo as much as the 'classic' line up. Quite a few people at the gigs I was at didn't even know what these songs were. After the reunion I mean. I have no opinion on that either way. It is what it is. People like what they like. And most people like things they know; such as the hits. But ta for putting these up. Really enjoyable

On Nicky Horn's rock show many years ago he was giving away free tickets for this band if you could guess their name. He played Blue Eyed Lady and the entrant hummed and hawed and said Beckett..who the fcuk were they?

Really enjoyable (Almost) the biggest thrill of the reunion gigs for me was the crowd reaction as the curtain came down and after the first song. It was just like back in the day. Completely different to modern day Quo. (Note: nothing disparaging there - just nostalgia)

Nowadays it's one of my favorites, not from the album, because it is off the top 3, but favorites. Basically the same with me. Never really interested in it, just listened to it when I played the whole of Hello. Yes, I enjoyed the song, I liked it, thought it was great, but...I don't know. When I first saw the jam on the Hello Quo DVD I was hooked from the word go. I played these 2mins or so over and over and over again. And when they started the song in Manchester on March 6th it took some seconds for me to realise - and then went mad. Never in my wildest dreams had I thought to see this song, that grew on me so much and was easily my favourite Quo song at the time after Caroline which will always be number 1, live. Awesome! Still think any live version beats the studio version though especially in terms of power and heaviness.

Annie Nightingale used to regularly play it on her Sunday show 30 odd years ago (with the theme tune: 'Lazy Sunday afternoon, I've got no mind to worry, I close my eyes and drift away-Small Faces).
Always loved to hear it on her show and her gentle introduction.
As with John Peel she gave the band time and credibility.

Maybe they wrote together for the PLC EP. Wish they'd get that one out to us one way or another. Yep - I was just thinking about those tunes too. I wonder if it'd ever be possible that JCQ could include them on the 'new' album? - even as a Deluxe Bonus or something [HATE Deluxe Bonuses btw!]
At least then FR wouldn't have to 'suffer' [?] having his name associated with it in any way - which seems to be a deal breaker for him.
