Oh yes, March 6th, 2013 - I can't believe it's been 8 years already. This time exactly 8 years ago, I probably woke up in a hotel in Liverpool after having a blast at The Grapes on Matthew Street (just seen that it's closed for good ) the night before. After breakfast I took the train to Manchester. I still didn't believe it was happening 100% until I saw the Apollo on the left side after walking along the seemingly endless street out of city centre. And not only that. There were people queuing- and the sign outside said: Status Quo - The Frantic Four - Sold Out! That's when I knew it was really and truly happening. I was reliefed and felt so excited. The rest as they say is history, the huge roar from about 2500 people when the curtain fell and our four heroes stood there in Hello Pose, the incredible atmosphere, the cheering when Bob came on stage, the introduction of Alan and John during Francis' first announcement, which I still know by heart, the "Shit, the drummer was right! He's never right" from Francis and the mischievous grin from John.... Oh, what a night (see what I did there? ). I have to put the CD on and turn it up - and watch some of the awesome Youtube videos, I'm in some of them, the guy was apparently standing 2 rows in front of me

"Oh dear, dear, dear, who ever thought this would 'appen, ay? One more thing to say really, Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan" Edit: And yes, I knew this by heart and didn't have to look (listen) it up

I remember this particular day (the next day), coming back from school and just before lunch, going to this forum looking for the setlist.
Was really excited to see that they played for the first time Blue-Eyed Lady and, my loved, Oh Baby. Shi*. I remember looking after lunch Youtube to see if someone uploaded that song. When I saw the first link of it, I push the volume speakers to the 100, some of the books that I have in a shelves falling down due to the vibrations of the audio. Wish I could be on just one gig of that tour, but the dates from the two years were so bad for me (due to the exams) and also, the trip, tickets and hotels weren't cheap either (and I was going alone) I wish I have a time machine...

If your wish is granted, set it on the 70s and take me with you. (I'll buy the beer: at those prices we'll have a ball.)

8 years ago I was at the 2nd night of Quo at the O2 Academy in Glasgow. Was the meet and greet and was one of the best days ever. Spoke at decent length with Alan and Bob Young, and of course photos with the band. Never been one for memorabilia so sold the free gifts - watch, signed poster etc. which pretty much covered the cost of the day! Weather outside was snowing so was good to be in early (about lunchtime I think) for the meet and greet and then at the bar inside before eventually heading into the gig.

The weather was shocking. It was the only reunion gig I did in 2013 because of some daft illness. That pi$$ed me off no end Had to get rid of Manchester and Hammy Apollo tickets. Did a couple in 2014 to compensate but somehow it wasn't the same. The moment had passed. Although they were still enjoyable.

Went to Hammersmith 1st night and it was like a cup final, a cup final where you're 5 nil up against 8 men in the 1st minute....and your keepers not Scottish.

Great picture of Marguerita Time intro.

Fab couple of days, felt like a teenager again, meeting folk and having a few drinks in the Solid Rock etc. Stayed over in the Grand Central Hotel. On the way up for the first gig, I found a dropped ticket. Rather than some chancer getting it I waited to see who in the queue started frantically (see what I did there) checking all their pockets. Right enough, a guy a bit in front of me started digging in every pocket so I asked if he'd lost something. Thought he was going to kiss me, he was about greetin'!

Yeah, went to the Solid Rock as well. At least I think that's what it was called. State of Quo were on. Hilly and the band were in top form. My sister and brother-in-law had gone the night before and stayed over to do the second night as well. I think we were in the Jury's Inn. Can't quite remember. I wasn't 100% fit for a Quo gig for almost the first time in my life so that probably explains why I didn't get as much out of it as many others. But I promised myself I'd at least make one of the Glasgow gigs. I had tickets for both. Missing Hammersmith was a huge disappointment though. But 8 years? That's just insane!

Met quite a few forumites, many who turned out be not to be fannies after all and quite different from their board personas. Others I met and got on like a house on fire but ended up booting off the board as again, the whole 'online' thing can bring out the worst in everyone sometimes, and I don't exclude myself from that. Brilliant couple of days, shame you weren't fully match fit but hey, you were there!

Me thyroid just decided to go t!ts up (in a fast way) about 3 months before and I was wasted most of the time (see what I did there? ). Medication kept it all stable and about 4 years later, I was cured. Bl00dy nuisance though Like you say, at least I was there. Got myself a right good Blue For You t-shirt as well. It comes out the drawer occasionally if I want to show off
