Yeah, we used to do it up the Youth Club in the mid to late Seventies. It used to piss off the Punk,Disco and Reggae fans so that was a good thing. I have to be honest, when the biker gangs used to turn up occasionally, especially as they were older lads, all of us doing it was a pretty impressive sight. " Hey DJ, got any Quo!" I have only ever seen it done at a Quo gig once or twice, and certainly not done to the full live version of Forty Five Hundred Times! But yes, like many others on here, you are/were expected to perform it at weddings/work events etc, usually to Rockin` All Over The World! We used to call that dance 'The Flying Angel'.

The problem is that many people put their hands on their hips & vaguely wave their arms around like some kind of demented chicken - a chicken with no sense of timing. I've seen it done by lines of people, mainly blokes, & the the two lines are like the front row of a rugby scrum & the whole thing is performed with energy & aggression - powerful to witness or be part of, which I have been, back in the day. I'd probably put my back out now! Should be the equivalent to the Haka against New Zealand
