Love this one! Can you imagine my excitement, going back through the Quo catalogue after I joined the Quo army with OTL. Brilliant discovery. And seeing that cover again, on the stage curtain in 2013 at Hammersmith Odeon. Goosebumps!

Great from start to finish. Caroline perhaps sounds slightly timid now Of all the country songs that came later, none were as enjoyable as fine fine fine
No Alan singing, little diversity and no harmonica, yet still brilliant and 100% Quo
It gets knocked but I love reason for living. Would have loved it on the reunion tours if they'd done it

An album that is bookended by two tracks that just cannot be by any other band. The Mighty ROLD and 45HT .Played Live ( and when played properly) they are THE two Quo songs for me. Love the fact they all get a writing credit for ROLD. Chuck in Softer Ride , which I have always rated as a standout track and would be in my Quo top 10 tracks every day of the week and it's a classic. Ably supported by And it's Better Now, Caroline and BEL. Claudie works where it is on the track. The only one for me that always keeps this out of my Quo top 3 Album wise, is a Reason for Living. I have said it before and I cannot get it out of my head, but the guitars sound like an argument between Sooty and Sweep! Other than that top stuff .

A classic album so warm and moody but when seeing Quo live back in the 70s performing some of these songs live was a totally heavy rock experience.Never bettered.

One of my top three albums and THE one that defines Quo for me. It's an amazing album for me with probably the best opening track of all albums. Absolutely love Roll over Lay down, Blue Eyed Lady, Caroline, Softer Ride and Forty Five Hundred Times ! There are two tracks I had to get used to, A reason for living and And it's better now but nowdays I think they are ok. Claudie is a nice country influenced song without going too much into country like some later country influenced songs. it's an album that I can play almost always and very seldomly get tired of, something I can say about only a limited amount of other quo alums. It's a true classic

I like this album I play it in a different tracklist order to the original It sounds pretty good to me (1) Caroline:always a classic opener (2) Roll over lay down: wakes you up in the morning turned up full blast volume (3) Softer ride: great rockers song (4) Reason for living: some good guitar work & Chord changes plus Rick sings it (5) Claudie:nice guitar solo in the middle & nice lyrics (6) Blue eyed lady: nice to up the tempo after Claudie (7) And its better now: a good song the chorus sticks in your Head "gotta have something to sing about everyone must have a song" what a good line (8) 4500 hundred times: great classic song I like long songs by quo fantastic. it is a shame they don't do long songs anymore. On a side note don't forget b.side of the Caroline single non-album song called Joanne
