Taking Alan's health into consideration and all the bad feelings between Alan and Francis I don't think things will ever be patched up again. If Rhino would become unavailable I think Francis would either quit all together with the band or get some other bass player in but he wouldn't ask Alan unless there were money reasons involved and even then it's highly doubtful I think

I imagine the main thinking behind not bringing JC back would be the logic that a younger drummer might attract new younger fans.JC really has no singing or song writing to offer the band either. Perhaps a younger bass play then although unlike JC Alan would be able to offer singing and song writing that we know does suit Quo's music. Francis and Alan not getting a long now? I've not heard that. Al's health. He seems very bright and fluent in a more recent interview I heard. Physically not sure where he is at these days. When Rick was there we did still have a good strong song writer for Quo's music but with a void there AL would strengthen up that area for Quo Imo should they choose to do another album. An album full of FR Rhino and Andy songs hmmm. Leave me out of that! Mate, as gently as I can say it it.....time to put the Alan/Quo goggles down ...Francis and Alan aren’t talking anymore and the Quo caravan has moved on ......

I don't think Alan wants to join the current band, it isn't the Quo he once left. He would not accept Francis as the only leader and Francis doesn't want to share that leadership with Alan.
If Alan joins the band as a permanent member it could be hard for Francis to kick him out again. I don't think he wants to take that risk.

If there was a severe cash shortage on both sides, they would find a way to resolve their differences at least for the duration (and not be the first.)
Sadly, not otherwise.

Don't think Alan would be physically fit enough to join any band never mind Quo unfortunately. So it's a moot point.

Even if him and Francis made up tomorrow and Rhino decided it was time to call it a day, it couldn't happen. As much as I love and respect Nuff, he's walking with a stick these days.
We don't like to admit it but we did see him already struggling in parts of the 2013 tour, even more so in 2014.
You'd imagine things like insurance for a tour to cover cancellations etc would be astronomical.
The best we can hope for is for the PLC recordings to see the light of day. Spud talks about them in that new Quo magazine by Mike Quollector. They exist. Nuff has them, apparently. Get them released.

Get them released. Maybe Alan has been advised to hold back until Quo are through, then Francis will add his parts (or already has) and it will be a highly appropriate swansong with maximised interest and, thus, payout. They'd be daft not to do this IMO. It would be a profound send off, more so with Rick in the mix. Might even heal the rift between Francis and Alan.
