It's a massive shame to see Nuff and Francis at loggerheads again, I guess the reunion tours only papered over the cracks. Alan even during the reunion tours was obviously hugely struggling to physically cope with the demands of touring. Any sort of permanent reunion was always going to be a fanciful idea however much the vast majority of fans would like to have seen it. Imagine if they'd kept a decent relationship going and Quo had managed to release a new album with some songwriting credits from Alan or even a guest vocal. Problem is that is seems Alan will not back down over comments about his illness. Which I can understand to a point, he apparently kept saying "There's nothing wrong with me" at the reunions. There's evidently something wrong but he's too proud to ask for help.

aka Patty Parfitt. She lived in Woking in the 60s and knew Rick and his family. The families knew each other a bit like how Rick knew Paul Weller but without the romance! Rick used to pose around Woking (surely not?!) in his Jag when the money started to come in. He had his eye on Ms Beedon and she had an eye on Rick...or should that be Ricky?! Rick made the first move, from all accounts, and they became engaged. As Quo business went up a few gears their relationship cooled down I believe. Patty moved to Australia and set up a business. I think she and Rick came back into each other's lives periodically. Particularly around the Live Aid time. At a time when Rick was still doing his Rock star thing but actually financially in poor shape. They married and they had t. heir son Harry. They eventually separated. Well, he left her to get back with his first wife briefly.. And then got back together. And then separated. Well, he married somebody else without her knowing. Then got back together. Well, secretly. Keep up! π Wtf??!! What a f***in' mess. Seems that bluehighway has crossed swords [or paths, or something] with her too [?]
Gotta say tho', part of me doesn't really want to know this stuff - it seems to taint the music. Mind you, with all that [and other] shite going on around them it's no wonder the music suffered and became what we got after '81 [imho, of course!]

So, according to an earlier post Alan "stunned the audience and Mick Wall when he mentioned that Francis brought his "bit on the side" on one of the reunion tours.. π" A "bit on the side", eh? I know little of such things. Can you get 'em on a rental?

Anyway, how was the Quo convention. Any good bands? I enjoyed all the bands, but I have to mention the Dutch band Status Quotes, a 2 hour set of classic Quo with only, (what I can remember) 2 Quo singles. Set the tone for the weekend Another big plus about the weekend.....the people, talking my language regarding all things Quo

There's a 24 minute footage of Status Quotes at Minehead, with a mixture of chat (where Alan & John meet the band) & live performances from the Convention. The 20 seconds from 14:34 some up the weekend. Unfortunately, I haven't a clue to upload it on here.
