Stage Tape click track is audible on this mix until it cuts off during the tempo change Well, they were better on the next day. Rick's voice was better and Francis played better. And the mix seems a bit problematic, in some parts. But I like how clean the drums are. The lack of a master compression really makes them live. Fun fact related to what you said: on the studio version of Ain't Complaining, at the beginning, when the voice is only on one channel, if you amplify the other channel, you can hear the click track as well. Think most of the vocals from the 18th gig were overdubbed, especially Little Dreamer, Perfect Remedy & The Power Of Rock. Rick and Fran weren't well at the time and their vocals suffered massively. But I completely agree that Rossi played better on the 18th gig. It's definitely a rough mix especially with it coming from a DAT Tape source. The instruments fluctuate throughout the show, for example; Ricks guitar during Caroline is very low in the mix. Rossi was 100% right about his amp being too bright, it's very noticeable during the intro to Mystery Song... thankfully that was sorted for the following night. Another fact in regards to Ain't Complaining. They were going to add that to the setlist at the time, as they had a stage tape mix done for it.

I may be at a minority here, who knows, but I much prefer that from the RAOTY release. The next night, whilst a blistering set, was far too polished overall and the rawness of the above video bears far more resemblance to what makes a great live album for me: imperfection, rough and raw and a mix that doesn’t just sound like the studio version with an audience track. The main reason why I’ll always seek out a well-known bootleg by a band before I even look anywhere near an official live release. Great stuff 👍👍

Yes! Even has that "Fighting For Love" version! Wasn't there a song, from this time, called "Sold"?
I will acquire this one.

"Sold" is just the title for the Ol' Rag Blues solo takes which has circulated throughout the community and originated on Bob Youngs blog site years ago... however there's a good 3 or 4 songs unreleased from the Perfect Remedy sessions, which I noticed too late for them to be added.

I’d make a fair bet in saying we’re probably not missing much

Premiering today at 15:00 and 15:30 (UK) Just one note: the snippet of the single version of Power of Rock you present there is actually the album version. I have both of the original album and single versions and just compared. Songs keep having that muddy EQ Andy Pearce seems to love and too much compression for my taste. It's the only downside.

It's the B-Side Edit, comes in around 4:40. Only difference between the 2 is the fact the B-Side edit has Rossi's first solo and the following Verse / Chorus cut and jumps straight to Andy's solo instead

The B side edit has less reverb on the snare and the stereo image is narrower. This mix is also the same released in the 2006 remaster (same mix I have from the CD single). I can send you the correspondent snippets.
