Thanks for posting this. Any idea why (the original version of) What You're Proposing was included in this version?

I've read that there is a Single Edit for "Can't Give You More". Saw it here and I'm pretty sure I've read it elsewhere. Not sure if it is on Discogs (not as a CD release, at least. I think the CD releases there only have a fade-out, shortening the song in 20 seconds, more or less). If this is true, is it being considered? Unless something changed, both edits are there.

This is the B-Side mix, and the A-Side mix opens with the original album versions of Rockin' All Over The World into Whatever You Want, then back to the Anniversary Waltz stuff.

I never noticed the ending from Great Balls of Fire is the same as the edited version from Rockin' All Through The Years. Do you mean Rocking All Over The Years? Rocking Through The Years was a VHS promo release from 1987

The imagination from the marketing department over the years is overwhelming (or through ).

I mean, they could have done a better job really by releasing the Promo video with the compilation CD in 1990 to celebrate the 25th Anniversary, but instead they released the Birmingham NEC footage with the Rockin' All Over The Years title which is stupid for a live gig release.

Just gave it a listen with good headphones, at last. It's nice to finally have these versions on CD. Just a bit disappointed at the compression. It's notorious. The instruments duck behind Rick's voice, especially when he reaches those higher notes that demand more from him. I don't understand why they insist on compressing the songs like this. These are older songs. They weren't made nor mixed to be compressed like this. They should breath. I really don't get why they need to bash those peaks like this. The only argument I see for compressing like this is the typical "to be listened on a crowded environment", but is that really an argument in this context? And is it still Andy Pearce remastering? Still getting that thin-and-muddy EQ feeling he likes. I wish these companies would just have something like "Masters on Demand". That'd be pretty cool. With this, I'm thankful this rarer stuff is being released at all in CD. Don't take me wrong. Especially with such good quality. Way better than the Now Hear This and Quo Cake Mix quality (again, I'm tankful for these). So I appreciate the effort you're making in publicizing this and the effort people put into the set lists and getting this stuff from the archives. A huge thanks for all of this! Will acquire.

Yeah, Andy Pearce is doing all of the Quo Deluxe stuff... the mastering done on these is much better than the job done in 2005/06 by Tim Turan. He truly f*cked the tracks peaks. Now Hear This will have come from a Cassette Copy, hence the tape hiss, as I doubt the masters for the US Remixes exist anymore due to the fact Riva Records haven't existed since the mid 80s. I think the Cake Mix comes from a Vinyl RIP as they possibly had trouble hunting it down in the vaults. There's nothing labelled as Cake Mix or Christmas Cake Mix. They had the same issue with the Spanish Promo Mixes for the Anniversary Waltz. I sent through the better quality copies which they have ended up using. Also sent them the STQ-3 Promo for them to use on any releases in the future. Cheers

Thanks for posting this. Any idea why (the original version of) What You're Proposing was included in this version? I can only assume it was a very big hit in Spain?
Sounds godawful sandwiched in there with the later recordings.

I thought the Now Hear This came from a vinyl rip because of the dropout in Runaway. I never liked the Now Hear This part in the Deluxe. The source used wasn't very good. I have a vinyl rip downloaded that sounds much better than the official version. Another missed opportunity.

I can't be 100% sure as I wasn't involved with those earlier batches. Could you send through the copy you have Roquer

Yeah, Andy Pearce is doing all of the Quo Deluxe stuff... the mastering done on these is much better than the job done in 2005/06 by Tim Turan. He truly f*cked the tracks peaks. The 2005/6 remasters are horrible. No discussion there. Andy Pearce got near them, on the second wave of the deluxes. And he is not very far from them. The latest releases also had a huge peak cut. Some songs from Back To Back and ITAN got more than 6dB worth of peaks completely cut. That's a lot, if you ask me. There goes the punchiness. One big difference between Tim Turan and Andy Pearce is the EQ. The former used more the typical rock (or V) EQ, from what I got. More bass and treble. Andy Pearce prefers the opposite: cut the very highs and some basses, boosting some high and low mids. I don't like neither, particularly. Some songs really lost the punch just because of the EQ, like End of the Line, for instance. What's annoying is that some songs that were never released in CD, like Where Are You Now, had this deluxe release with this EQ and 6dB of peaks cut. There are some good quality ones in YouTube, probably from vinyl rips. Just compare them with the deluxe one and you'll notice a good difference on the drums. Interesting. What was your source? The vinyl? Because the one you posted on YouTube doesn't sound like coming from a vinyl at all. I know they have super good tools to extract this stuff, but still. They did a good job there.

I'm assuming that on the deluxe of Perfect Remedy, we will be getting 3 live tracks from the Rocking All Over The Years video but not the whole gig?
