There are quite a number of clubs and pubs right across Australia, looking for entertainment, after JCQ pulled the pin. Get a Buffalo reunion to be your support act. 😉 Seriously mate I hope it all goes well.

Gaz I felt so sorry for John but like you and others said in the thread on his Australian tour it did seem badly thought out with the travelling and size of venue, the margins with touring are pretty tight and travelling that far incredibly so. I've been amazed at what's happening work wise for me, the gigs listed are more small scale press and fan gatherings , just me and a grand piano to publicise my new album Lucky Us, a couple more have been added in Zurich and Trondheim but my new promoters are setting up a full scale tour for later in the year, with hopefully even some dates back in the US.

You've been in the business long enough to know your territory which is crucial to success and I'm feeling you're very excited with these more intimate gigs. It must be very humbling knowing people are looking forward to going to see you and I'm sure you'll pay it back. There couldn't be a better feeling. Re: maybe some US dates...how would that be promoted?.. Rainbow, or do you have a fanbase?

I do love the intimate gigs, chance to talk to fans, even do a few requests if I can remember the lyrics (not always a given nowadays)but being back in 20,000 seat arenas last year was mind blowing too. As for the US I still have quite a sizeable fanbase over there from my old MTV days and also my side project Planet P Project was hugely popular over there back in the day, more political/historical songs than those I release under my own name. I'm heading back into the studio late summer to record a full on rock Planet P album as my response to Trump and certain other things happening in the world right now. "Lucky Us" is very autobiographical, just me, the grand piano and an orchestra.

4th Chord, good question, I do sometimes throw in a cover of a personal favourite. If it was just me solo, off the top of my head I'd go for Resurrection by Andy and Rick from 1982, always one of my favourites and a great musicians song.

More shameless self publicity, I'm back with these guys later this year, just a handfull of fellow oldtimers, Chris Thompson (Manfred Mann), Bobby Kimball (Toto), Nick van Eede (Cutting Crew), John Helliwell (Supertramp) Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) Randy Brecker and a couple of big surprises too.
In the studio recording a double album with them right now.
Oh and "Lucky Us" is almost here...

Congratulations,Tony, on your latest release on what must be an exciting day for you. Having listened to the album(do you call it album these days?)...a few times now I’m very impressed with it. I’ve actually played it a few times while having breakfast and enjoying the morning sun sitting on our deck in the backyard ...very relaxing. I’d Ike to buy the CD version of it so’s you get a few more $$ rather than Spotify which I hear doesn’t pay the artist that much. Anyway, ol mate, hope it all goes well.👍🏻

Obviously everybody else knows who you are and who you play with and the like, but this American doesn't. Care to enlighten me?
