The thing is if u played NTL then play OTL you realise how bad NTL really is .sorry, its light years away from the material that made QUO so great in the 70s.

Just one of my favourite songs from the band, and IMHO, one of the greatest solos from Rossi (and I think all the solo are just 5-7 notes at total...).

Okay, OTL was brilliant. I agree. But that doesn't make NTL bad. It's a very good album, it's just not brilliant. How many bands ever make more than one brilliant album?

If you'd lived through buying 70s albums and being blown away then suddenly replaying 77 & on albums over and over again and trying your best to love them 'WYW an exception' then you'd understand but you've only just found QUO recently and everythings new to you.

Really ? I grew up being familiar with the seventies albums so howcome do I rte NTL so highly then ? It has not only to do with how you got into the music but also with an ability to appreciae something that might sound different to what you are used to

This is evidenced by those of us who still think it’s bloody brilliant and still enjoy listening to it Yes it’s a long way from the classic Quo style, but so what? Sorry you don’t like it mate but for me it’s insanely enjoyable

Fantastic track, love it, agree with those who say Rossi was on fire during the solo stuff.

Rick had been thinking about re-recording ' Take Me Away' for his solo album that became the 'Over And Out' album. Sadly events took over so never happened. . This is correct, thanks largely to Alan I’d had a long catch up with Rick on Skype in the months before his death. Having heard the guitars he’d put on one of Alan’s songs I’d hoped to be able to pursuade him to work on the PLC idea before he did his solo album. He was though very determined to do his solo project first and his book. After which he told me he would look at PLC. He talked about the songs he wanted on his solo album which included Take Me Away and asked me if it would be ok to do it, of course he didn’t need my permission in anyway and I thought it would have been great for him to cut this. Francis did do a great solo and it was live not overdubbed. I think it was so spontaneous how it happened. Sadly he didn’t get to do it. Rick was looking so well at this time it seemed like there was still so much we wanted to do after Quo. But he sounded bitter about things and I’d never heard him quite like this before. It was my last time to see him.
