I have no intention of seeing the current band live but would it be a nice idea if they played a couple of tracks from “Over and Out” as a mark of respect. Lonesome Road or Fight For Every Heartbeat would work well? Just a thought... The idea in itself is a valid idea...IF it indeed would be a mark of respect. Sadly enough they (and especially one person) showed to have no respect for Rick nor Rick's songs at all since they already completely destroyed some of Rick's songs. Some of the songs on Rick's album sound really good and i'd hate to think of what they would do to songs like Lonesome Road or Fight for every heart beat...

I wouldn't want SQ to play those songs....
....but I think it would be perfect if Sound of Status played Lonesome & fight when they visit the UK
I'd love to hear the songs live, so totally understand the OP. They would be popular choices for any tribute band

I really hope not, the last thing we want is Rossi/Porter jumping on the Rick bandwagon just because the album is better than any new product to come out of the Status Quo camp in decades. Oh and selling well ££££

In three words: a shite idea.

The only way on the horizon that any of Rick's songs will be played live to large audiences will be if current Quo plays them, which I have a feeling is not going to happen.
Or if another "name band" does a cover and takes it out.
Up in the air really.

Someone mentioned the idea of hearing the tracks live to Rick Parfitt Jnr, and he said "we're thinking about it" Just going to put this back where people can see it

I get the negative response, I really do.
As I said before though. I have no intention of seeing the current line up. However, if Rossi stood on the mike and said “this is a track from Rick’s solo album, a track called “Lonesome Road”.
Wouldn’t that go down well with the audience?

I doubt most of the casual audience would have even heard of it sadly.

Would they know who Rick Parfitt is?

Probably only if they put a photo up, I think for many casuals they would recognise Rick and Francis as "being" Status Quo but wouldn't be sure which was which.

But do I think they would be doing it for the right reasons... well no. I won’t be there, so I will never know. More likely is Rick jr doing a tribute show to his dad. Get people on the album to play if they are available. Invite John, Alan and Francis and any other band member. To play a few Quo songs as an encore. Will that happen... well no but it’s a nice thought.

I did think a couple of the numbers would actually suit Rossi, but I don't think a Francis Rossi's Status Quo Show is the place for them. It might work in the context of a Rossi solo tour & would probably seem less like another Quo gimmick.
