I've had the band remix in the car for the last few weeks. Swopped it today for the official mix and didn't enjoy everybody knows how to fly as much! Love the distortion at the start on the band remix
Rick's guitars though clearer on the other rockers.
Mostly though the differences are very subtle between the two mixes

My wee 5 year old daughter loves singing Twinkletoes in the car! With its dreadful lyrics. Probably its target audience. Has the word skip, written all over it.

Lyrics are not the only things in a song. What about the melody, harmonies and fantastic guitar solo? Ok it's pop rock, not metal, so I can see it won't appeal to everyone, but I think it's a great little song and really catchy.

The style isnt the problem. Its simply for me not very good. However each to their own. Im sure there is someone our there other than his Mam who likes Francis's Tommys in love.

Pretty sure, let’s face it, as I walked back from the final Dublin reunion gig, I heard people complain about the gig. Asking where was Rocking...

I haven't played it at all since it first came out. I loved it on the first couple of listens, but I think that was driven more by sentimental feelings about Rick & Quo.
But to be honest, I really don't feel very much desire to listen to it again.
I'll give it another go, and try to listen to it objectively, rather than pretending I'm 14 again.

I hadn't listened to the album for a while & prefered the more polished mix, but I played the rougher mix the other day for the first time in ages & really enjoyed it. I couldn't help thinking that Rick had largely wasted over thirty years recording substandard material in a mediocre band that didn't capitalise on his abilities.

It's a decent compilation album, with some great songs on it. I listen to it every once in a while and I only skip 'When I Was Fallin' in Love' which I hate. I was amazed how good 'Long Distance Love' is, as I would normally go for 'Lonesome Road' as my predictable favourite. 'Twinkletoes' and 'Over and Out' would complete my top 4 of songs that are worth buying this cd for. Good one, Rick.

...I only skip 'When I Was Fallin' in Love' which I hate. Yeah, my least favourite track too. It's tolerable though on the band's mix, whereas on the polished version it's way too loud and the vocal is far too upfront. They should have eased back a bit on the mastering side, IMO.

I just love this record, have played it pretty much constantly since I bought it on release. I haven’t done that Never Too Late age 17.
It’s the best Quo album or Quolinked solo project there’s been since 1981. Hallowean is the only obviously must-skip on here
8-out-of-10.

Not sure why all the hate for Halloween, but my favorite is Everybody Knows How To Fly. I really love Rick's singing on this, and the slide guitar work.

The album, although it would have been shorter, would have benefited from the omission of Halloween. If it hadn’t been done identically by Quo years ago it may have stood a chance. It offers little to this album.
