Very 'Down Down' to my ears. Still, i like it but creative it ain't.
That short clip shits over any of Rossi's solo efforts so there is a lot to say about that alone.

Get what ya mean by it not being "creative" But, it's the sound he's known for and what he's best at and what he loved so I'm all for it

Sorry again. I have a big mouth on me so, can't help myself...
But, listening to that snippet again.. That vocal.. It actually sounds like he "means it" As in, he's into it.
I did not get the impression of that on that last acoustic album. Comparing the vocals, it sounds like he did not want to be there on the last acoustic album.
I know initially a few months back on here, there were concerns this album wouldn't be good or worth a buy.. I think the first song and this snippet put those fears to rest.
Granted, a few didn't like the first tune but, it was met with a "not for me" vibe as opposed to the "Ah fucking hell" atmosphere that has greeted a lot of CQ's material.
I think it could be good. If the B sides over the last 30 years are anything to go by, Rick deserves a chance to shine

If the B sides over the last 30 years are anything to go by, Rick deserves a chance to shine It could be put to bits from it and so far so bang average. Its funny how two people can listen to the same thing and hear different thinks. Yes it’s up tempo this second track, but it’s bang average and sounds sterile just like the band he was in. Sounds like a track that could have been on QPQ. it would have sounded just like that to my ears. Yes it’s what he knows and it’s not terrible but it’s not great either. It could be his best song in years and that doesn’t exactly say much. His solo album clearly won’t be a train wreck. But so far so average. I will buy it, but it seems out of loyalty to Rick rather than anything other than an album I will listen to a couple of times and then probably never listen to again. There is too much great music for me to listen to such bang average music.

One thing I will say, like my initial post, it sounds good... There is certainly an intro before that snippet so none of us can say if it's a good song or not yet. Put it this way, if we heard a 20 second snippet of Down Down before it's released, none of us would have predicted what a big hit and great song it would have been

I think it will also be a mixed bag of songs that could quite easily have been one of the "Rick" songs on any Quo album in the past few years. With some tracks not fitting a Quo album, I felt that way about Francis last solo album. Some of those could have fitted on recent Quo records while others were not "Quo" songs.

I suppose by Quo songs I mean the ones which have the typical rhythm.

Yeah I really like the sound of it. And to be honest who cares whether that's the best track on it? I for one don't. It's gonna be the last stuff we will get from the man and considering how frail he must have been we should count ourselves bloody lucky as fans. I will be thankful whatever it's like - if there were no product at all from him it would have been far worse. Roll on 29th March! QUORP
