Pip Williams couldn't produce a decent shite. The tinny sounding ROATW would be a fuckin' brilliant album without that hash of a production that Pip did on it. The John Eden mix is good, but still not how I would and I'm sure many fans would expect it to sound like. Too Far Gone is the only weak track on it for me, and with the production, it's an 8.

The original Pip version is a 6/10 for me.... But.. The John Eden remix is a strong 9/10 without a doubt! Without the title track and Baby Boy it would have been 9,5/10

Less & less development of the musical arrangements, with only rare subsequent exceptions, the turn towards ever blander pop rock had been taken. At least the Live! album was a fitting epitaph to the previous seven years work. 6/10.

Very different to what went before but I have always liked it, CGYM, WAI, DW, HYB and RR the stand outs . 8/10 for me.

Only a couple I listened to when it came out, and then very rarely. Don't listen to any of them anymore whatsoever.
Start of the downfall, I rate it 1/10.

5/10 for the original, 7/10 for the remix I would agree with that rating, with a 2/10 for the cover.

9.25. Almost every song a classic.

The album that coincided with my first ever Quo gig on the associated anthem themed tour. On that basis alone I can only state my good allegiance to it. I was far too busy having a great time to worry about production and things like that A bit like hitching a thrilling ride on your boyfriends chunky old motorbike but not worrying like him that the big end is wearing (or whatever it is that causes consternation with bike owners)
But to the here and now, the re-mix has improved the sound of course
I will happily give the album 9/10 I'm at 9.25, but I agree, what a kickass album. And since almost every Quo album has one song that's not great, I discount Baby Boy as that song on this record.

Top album. Original sound was thin. But its ok, anyway. Full of good tracks, different styles. Baby boy' is great:-) Good drumwork there.

Phew... As I loved and love John Fogertys version of the title track, The Quo-version was, and is, a bit on the lame side... That aside, they played it so it couldn't be wrong, right? But the sound.... I bought 3 LP's before realizing that it wasn't my hi-fi, nor the needle..... For You... learned it on guitar for my then-GF. That B7 was a hard one! Love Dirty Water, HYB, RR, but the thin thin sound made the album a bit of a bummer. It was Quo, so way back then it was a 7, nowadays a 5, and the remix by mr. Eden is an 8.

What's interesting is that over here Fogerty's version barely made a blip, and I think it sucks. I'm not wild about Quo's because I don't like the song all that much, but Quo's is much better to my ears. Funny how things sound different to different people.
