I think you also have to take into consideration that this congregation ( ) of the Quo community has only been in existence since Nov 2015. And it came here are after a bruising time on Ricky's valiant board (which suffered from a lack of mods) and it was hard to discuss anything coherently there. Then we have had Rick's passing which is a massive downer and it takes time to recover from that. What I'm excited about, for this group, is that people are still posting positively about their love of the music and we have many readers, who might not post but come to see what we say every day. Hopefully more will feel comfortable to join in.

I meant filing away as in posting, not de-registering or anything as such. I know the usual core of posters are fully active on this site but compared to how things used to be there are fewer who post every day/every other day etc.
Its also a case of other things happening in life besides Quo. One good reason why there are folk who wax and wane in terms of appearance.
Nothing derogatory intended to threads about the Hello album etc. Its simply a case of having nothing new to say about any of these topics that wouldn't have said before. At least in my case.
Sharing the love, as you put it, is good obviously, as long as sharing doesn't become repetition (imo) - and speaking for myself at least it feels like it does become repetition.
As for talking about the current band, the thread I opened a little while back about the (unlikely) ways that FR Quo might refresh their approach was no different in terms of alternative thinking to your own views expressed about FR interview or the Wacken gig. As you appeared to maintain at the time anyway, its possible to discuss things not to ones own individual taste or particular interest, but still retaining an open mind.
But that type of thinking tends to be unpopular on here.
In a way you are right I guess...over time a lot of things get repeated... for me it depends on the sort of repetition though...there's repetetiveness about good things and bad things... and sharing the love for the music and such is at least to me a lot easier to deal with then the repetitiveness about certain negative things ... lots of dissatisfaction going around, in me too...however, i'd much rather share the love I had for the old music and it feels much less annoying then all the negative stuff... but that's me.. Yes of course that's also true.
There is an element of self annoyance for me in terms of repetition. Like becoming a granny before your time who sits and repeats old anecdotes time after time as if its the first time doh

Lol...yea we ain't getting any younger for sure ... but honestly, there are quite a lot of good memories that I can't get enough from sharing them What gets to me personally is the endless repeat of critisism and I have critisized myself a lot...just makes you feel bad about things though, that's why I prefer to remember the good parts of it

I listened to OTL about 3 or 4 weeks back, and being a favourite Quo album of all time loved it as much as usual while playing the album - but it re-enforced the fact that Rick was gone, that magic belongs in the past and that left something empty and much less enjoyable immediately afterwards.
Seeking out fresh music or even revisiting old music (in general) is the way now. I'm sure that's true of many people from time to time who float in and out of even their most favourite bands/artists

In a way I understand what you are saying. Of course there is the sadness about Rick being gone here too. Of course there are the realizations that it all turned into a pretty big shyte mess... and discovering new music and such is somethign I have been doing for years... yet, there are so many good memories about quo in many ways that I just can't deny. Yes, it's turned shyte...but i can't deny all the good it has brought me in so many ways and not just music wise, it brought friendships for me like I haven't been able to find anywhere else... no matter how I look at it, once there was a time that it meant the world to me and has gotten me through the worst of times even and that is something I will always be grateful for. So while a lot of new music has entered my world, I never forget what got me there

Whatever your views on Quo albeit more of an FF fan or a fan throughout the eras and different line ups, the whole thing no longer holds any charm without him. Nothing to look forward to now and most on here only post out of habit, loss or to remember happier days of tours or recorded output. Peace and love to all. I post in my habit, as I have recently become a nun. God bless you.

Loved that song. The EP came with a "PC" cover, those were the days.
