Ten. It's as simple as that. From start to end, not a bad track. And that's a fact (see what I did there??). Mystery Song is just immense. Rolling Home is a great driving, no actually, the whole album is a driving album!! It's also the last Frantic Four album, and my favourite Quo album. So, as I said, an easy ten.

10/10! The last in line of the strongest five in a row by any band ever!

7/10 unlike the proceeding albums some less than great songs amongst some classics. It was the start of the downward movement in quality. Never liked the sound of the album.

Hmmmmmm 8/10, the 4 previous albums had raised the bar so high and I just think Blue For You fell a bit short, but still a great album. I thought there were were a couple of tracks that were lacking something.

I thought there were were a couple of tracks that were lacking something. I agree. Best songs, I think, are Ring Of A Change, That's A Fact, Mystery Song (I love the clever use of the intro and outro) and I also really like Rolling Home. The rest are good/average - the best part of ITABW for me is the nice change of pace in the middle and Rain suffers from overplay and I don't like the way at all it has become spliced by CQ....

Aah, Blue for You: the Marmite of Quo albums.
I absolutely love it. But only recently. It's taken 30 years to grow on me.
Whereas OTL was full of fast attack and bite, this one is a bit more heavy - still relentless but a bit thicker. It's got muscle.
Love the country influence mixed with the heavy rock. Another 10/10 for me.

Some say the following album marked he change for Quo.
In my view Blue for you started that change, some great tracks some ?mmmmmmmmm
Too polished, too relaxed, too much thought dare i say ?
They had lost their raw edge.

8.5/10 There's some great stuff on here, including my all-time favourite: Mystery Song, but somehow the album seems a little disjointed. I attribute this to their increasing drug useage. Whereas on previous albums, Piledriver being a great example, the light & shade elements combine to make a coherent whole, on Blue For You it's almost as if two different bands are recording in two different styles, presumably the effects of a coke-fueled lifestyle. Nonetheless, they were never to sound this good again, imo.
