Best (and most important) studio release since WYW if you ask me, but each to their own...

I don't think you are alone.
I just like the originals to stay originals..they were what they were at the time so to speak..yep there may well be some approvements on the sound but I just like the originals to stay the way the were released at the time.

Well I've got it and can only say that it has put right a wrong regarding Quo's album output for me. If people really don't like the songs, then you still won't like the songs, but that was never really the problem for me. It was always just a frustrating listen through rather than a WTF tune-wise. Tracks felt restrained. Also I remember the first time I heard it from start to finish, the opening of Hard Time was different from all the other 1970-1976 albums, which all had either a bluesy or hard rocking start. Hard Time became a decent singalong boogie track, but that slower softer sounding start left me immediately thinking mmmmm? A beefed up Hold You Back starting is bang on and is how I had already changed my custom cd of the original RAOTW album for home (I do that if I don't like the running order). Rockers Rollin' has the live version tempo and you can really hear Rossi's solos now on that. It's enhanced the songs that I had always liked, but that needed more beef and has improved or made me view other tracks differently that I felt a bit meh about before. A few years ago I remember thinking that the RAOTW album, maybe wrongly song-wise, struggled to get inside my top 10 Quo albums, think it was always around the 9-11 area, but now I'd say it's pushing my top 5 very close. I think it's become a great release with the new mix, yes it has that commercial slant and there are plenty of different styles of track, but I have to say I think at the moment I'm liking all of them with their new sound. It does sound quite modern in places and maybe wouldn't quite have sounded this way if Quo had produced the album themselves in 1977 instead of pip or Mr Eden now, but it just sounds far more like Quo of 1970-1976 than it ever did on the original, that's only a good thing and and makes the good tunes better. Myy custom cd running order that I have for my home hifi is this below, biggest difference is the spread of Lancaster's tunes: 1. Hold You Back 2. Let's Ride 3. Rockers Rollin' 4. Who Am I? 5. Too Far Gone 6. Can't Give You More 7. You Don't Own Me 8. Dirty Water 9. Rocking All Over The World 10. For You 11. Baby Boy 12. Hard Time

I still haven't got my copy, but not too much longer to wait. I have the vinyl album that I bought when it was originally released, but it is loaded with crackles and sounds like a really old gramophone record. All that is missing is 'His Masters Voice' dog!

Strange, MyLady.... 40 years of playing an ancient analogue plastic thing, and it has scratches and pops? Really low quality that one, methinks!

Nah, but two or three perhaps? He has gotten the flak already, we now know the reasons, and 40 years down the line they fixed it!
