If not for the one song it would be 10, so I go with 9.5

Raw and heavy, yet with enough light and shade. Great songwriting and playing and a great album cover - nothing less than a 10.

9.5 merely to reflect the fact that I think Piledriver is just that little bit better.

8,5 out of 10 from me. I like all the other classic albums better - but Quo is of course still one hell of an album!

9/10. The Quo album includes 2 of my favourite guitar solo's by the band, Backwater & Lonely Man and feature's one of my favourite top 10 Status Quo tracks, Lonely Man. A great album to follow 2 masterpieces.

Quo starts with (IMHO) is undoubtedly the best opener to any SQ album the best ending. How do you beat that on any other album to follow?
The only weak point on the album is Fine Fine Fine. Although I liked the countrified Claudie, I was never a fan of FFF. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad song, just not to the same high level as the rest of the album. To me, Slow Train is the epitome of the FF. A showcase track that highights everything the band has to offer. Amazing. I love the rawness and heaviness of the album. Lancaster's influence is felt throughout the majority of this album. Backwater | 10/10 | Just Take Me | 10/10 | Break The Rules | 9/10 | Drifting Away | 10/10 | Don't Think It Matters | 10/10 | Fine Fine Fine | 7/10 | Lonely Man | 10/10 | Slow Train | 10/10 |
So where are we with the scores? Totting up gets an average of 9.5/10. Somehow I keep getting this score. I promise you, this is not intentional. doh
