We were supposed to arrive at around 2pm but because of traffic (moved 1 mile in an hour!) arrived at around 3:10. Stood outside chatting to quo fans (it was like a minehead reunion!). Yvonne from FTMO told us some details about next year's convention which i won't disclose until it's officially announced, all i can say is this one sounds even better and she's very thoughtful.
It got to around 3:45 and we decided to make a move and head into the venue. Packed solid. No chance of getting through the door so we went round the other way and managed to squeeze through to about the 3rd row. The pub was so tiny! There was more room where the band was playing than where the crowd were standing, but luckily, crowds don't bother me too much.there was no sound check or anything, the band just went straight into the set. There were more people stood outside looking through the window than inside.
I won't go into the setlist as it was the same as the Grange Over-Sands gig. As i've said before, the songs are significantly slower but they're still performed brilliantly. There was a short break for the hog roast outside which we didn't bother with so most people went outside and we managed to nab front row spaces!
So the band squeezed their way through the crowd and resumed their set. My personal favourites of the day were A Year, Blue Eyed Lady and Roadhouse Blues.
The gig was finished before 6:30 which was very strange but we spent around an hour chatting to people and stalking the band .
Managed to nick the setlist so got it signed by the band and got Just Supposin' signed by John. Had a brief chat with the other band members who remembered me by name from when i jammed with them in soundcheck a few weeks ago. I was trying to convince Mick and Baz to do some Predatür gigs.
Was great catching up with Vivfromcov and some people from minehead. An overall brilliant day, 9.5/10
