That's a great article - really nicely written And a deserved compliment to Alan as well Its a pity that Alan never got to do more interviews. You get a different and less repetitive perspective from him than Francis and Rick whose double act overdoes the acting stupid comedy routine - and can become annoying when you want to get some sensible answers to things. But then the promotional choices of where they appear for interviews doesn't help in this respect either Another reason why Alan is missed these days - reunions apart of course.

When I did the meet and greet, Al was the only one who seemed 100% genuine. I wandered over to him and said something along similar lines as in the article, and he beamed a huge grin and shook my hand with an 'aw, thanks mate'.

I can believe his responses and being genuine like that. I think that Quo have been left a lot worse off without him.

When I was leaving the photo position at the Meet 'n Greet Alan caught hold of my sleeve and pulled me back. He wanted to know what the name meant on the back of my denim jacket. It was Quodlibet, my name on the old official board.

Cheers for that.Really sincere and touching article.Last met Alan at the Grosvener Hotel in Glasgow on the EOTR tour.He was being interviewed about his cooking and favourite recipes for some reason!Me and my mate managed to chat with him for a few minutes and he was was very patient and polite despite the fact the guys were soon heading off to the Apollo for the sound check.Who would have thought what was coming round the corner?

If Francis knew what was good for him, he would continue to forge back the friendship that the reunions were the beginning of mending the rifts that had broken it decades earlier. Just dreaming obviously, but some Rossi/Lancaster writing one-offs would be a very interesting semi retirement activity post CQ chocolate éclair tour. Oh and with Rick and John of course

Brilliant, heartwarming read! I had the opportunity to meet the entire band in Copenhagen during the EOTR tour and to me AL definetly was the warmest, most interested most caring person. He immediately remembered my name and it was actually his suggestion that someone could take a photo of me together with the band (Frame was by far less interested to say the least). The next evening, during their gig in Copenhagen AL immediately recognizes me in the crowd, nodded, mimed "hello Per" and smiled. The other ones didnt norice me at all. All in all a fantastic person who really cares about his fans and his (and the bands) legacy!
