I think it would work stripped down also.

I really like this song and the album.
Back in the day I always had an LP for Christmas....78 I got IYCSTH, 79 I got WYW and I was sure 80 would be JS.
I remember seeing the wrapped LP by the tree and I couldn't wait to open it and play it......imagine my surprise when I ripped off the wrapping paper to find Adam and the Ants - Kings of the Wild Frontier.
I never got round to buying JS until about 5 years ago.....it grows on me more each time I listen to it.
Strange that 35 years on I will again be receiving Status Quo stuff for Christmas in the form of the new cd and dvd from my kids.
Whatever happened to Adam Ant?

Great song and Rick's best vocal performance together with his part in Breaking away imo

Great song and Rick's best vocal performance together with his part in Breaking away imo This song had seemed to be the product of a jam session written as an obvious candidate to be played live. It showed that the Parfitt/Young combo could be every bit as good as the more accustomed Rossi/Young combination.
I agree with you about Rick's vocals on this one

Strange that 35 years on I will again be receiving Status Quo stuff for Christmas in the form of the new cd and dvd from my kids. Whatever happened to Adam Ant? Adam Ant, the Eighties pop star, avoided jail yesterday after a judge said he was mentally ill when he smashed a pub window and threatened customers with an imitation pistol. Judge Jeremy Roberts said it would "not be right" to treat the singer, appearing at the Old Bailey under his real name Stuart Goddard, as an ordinary criminal. "There is no question of a prison sentence here," the judge said as he imposed a one-year supervision order on Goddard, who admitted affray at a north London pub. Goddard, bespectacled and wearing a smart, dark suit, sat for most of the hearing with his eyes closed. He left court without comment. David Tomlinson, prosecuting, described how the former star was mocked by drinkers at the Prince of Wales pub because of his cowboy-style appearance. They hummed the theme tune to the spaghetti western, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. From October, 2002. I remember that. The pub was in Camden. He was suffering from mental illness at the time
