Josie Jason and Jimi Hocking in Melbourne playing Down Down (and bit of Caroline) and Down the Dustpipe (with a bit of Down Down at the start). Can't see this happening today. The respect has been lost by 30 years of stunts by Quo and Quo pissing all over their own reputation!

I would think,as Brian May says in Hello Quo,with all the shit and stuff in the music industry Rossi and Parfitt are massively respected.Showbiz is judged on sales and income. All that artistic credibility etc never paid a bill.Forty Eight years in the game and still going at a really good level,no one jumps for joy following Status Quo onstage. We dig them out on here, but,in the right mood,in the right place they can blow anybody away..still!

Also met the guy a few years ago & he love's QUO, he's been in a band here in Oz called The Screaming Jets for the last 15 or more years now. When Quo toured here in 2013, the screaming jets supported Quo in Sydney, he must of been happy as a pig in shit. In the late 80's he had his own band 'Spectre 7' & he played a lot of Quo. Unfortunately, Josie Hocking (sister) passed away in a few years back.

I love to see women musicians really rock like that, it's what I would have loved to have done if I had learnt more on my guitar! So sad to hear she passed away.

Yes it was the enthusiasm, commitment, sheer joy and sound (raw and rough at the edges) that made me like the clips, even though I do not necessarily like heavy metal and guitar shredding, I just love these musicians and what appears as their genuine love and feel for the music which shines through. They appear real with soul and in the moment and not just going through the motions (as CQ have been for decades). They even have a bass player who is unfortunately trying the rhino headless chicken dance!
Also loved the shots of the crowd at 4.30 to 5.00. Not a plastic guitar in sight!
Sorry to hear about Josie, RIP. There are a number of obituaries on the internet. A beautiful, genuine, human being.

Respect for Quo in the rock world, early 90's?
Quo's name was mud in the rock press from 88 onwards. I even remember Quo getting slagged off in a magazine dedicated to celebrating the history of the monsters of rock festival.
Had Quo appeared at MOR during the 88-96 period, I think they would have had a torrid time. ARMY would have resulted in thousands of bottles being thrown! Christ help them if they had attempted Burning Bridges!!
Fast forward to 2014, and Quo went down well at the same festival. And although he gets slagged here a lot, credit must go to Simon Porter. When HT came out, he did a lot to rebrand Quo as a classic rock band - and they have worked the classic rock festival circuit ever since.
I accept that respect for Quo in the biz itself has been there ever since live aid....but within the rock world it's different. I agree that Quo trashed it's own rock god status and became resented in the rock scene for some years....but they are now regarded as a classic rock band with lots of classic songs, albeit laced with some embarrassment along the way. The resentment is now only held by sections of the bands own hardcore fanbase of old. Otherwise, I think all has been forgiven.
