Yes indeed, very quiet. That's too bad, especially now.........Because Status Quo decide to want to stop their electric quojc show this year ! Maybe everyone deeply impressed and many people are sad. There are many Dutch people didn't know, this website in in the air. I didn't know it either. But welcome to this site. letsrock "Will 'o' the Wisp"

Hey there Wolfman Nice of ya to say hi to the Dutch fans Hallo allemaal Wilde ook even hallo zeggen.

Hi Victor - one thing I've always wondered is how English looks to non-English speakers. Like I don't know a word of Dutch (like most Brits I know no foreign languages to any great extent) but if I had to make up some Dutch it would be like "Klimt ee vor meer haas de engedeelt aachen ja jawirke geflote" or something like that. I know you know English too well, Victor, but it would be interesting seeing some Dutch-perspective "made up english" I once asked a French lass how English sounded to the French - she spoke good English so was not able to separate herself from it, but she said her little brother impersonating English went "rar rar rar" Hiya Gates. Sorry I am late with this, i've been a bit under the weather healthwise the past few days and haven't been feeling too well...but anyway... well, I have to congratulate you, LOL, cos I have absolutely no idea as a naytive Dutch speaker what you were trying to say ... All I can make out is klimt (climbing), meer (more), aachen (a german town), geflote (needs an n at the end, then it could be whistled). Dutch perspective made up english hey ? Hmmm... never tried much of that...well...I sang quosongs in the beginning in made up english, you know, things like " down down, didely down" and "Hou je bek, hou je bek, slow ye down"...

I am sorry to hear you were off colour Victor, I hope you're a lot better now. I am surprised any of those words turned out to be proper words! So it wasnt too bad an impression after all! Thanks very much for the thought, Gates, I appreciate it

As gatesheadbanger says, it's always strange to hear a language you don't speak and often when I hear Dutch it has a similar effect on me as hearing some of the more difficult German accents - bits and bobs I understand but overall it throws me brain off.

Well, I can read and understand German without any problems...speaking and writing it goes a bit slow, but I can do it. It's probably cos I grew up and right now live again at only 5 km from the German border (i'm right near Wehr, Süsterseel and not far from Heinsberg). Lots of words in the dialect they speak here are the same or very similar to their German counterparts, even more so then official Dutch.
