They could have the advert breaks at every bad continuity join. Just the music videos. (Confession: Bula Bula Quo is a catchy little tune. Not Quo worthy, but a nice enough song.) What's really surprising is the Jon Lovitz is usually hilarious, the chick is hot, the location is great, the band is very likeable, so to screw that up takes real talent. Hey, does anybody know how to shrink the size of the website? All others do, but this one is about twice as large. Nice to see you AQ!

Weird how much I would have missed this.

The director openly admitted that the quality script doesn't matter. All you need is a good director. And that for me is the main reason it doesn't work. But he blames the fact that there was a massive flood prior to the shoot and they had to rethink their locations on Fiji.

But to my mind the acting by Jon Lovitz gave the impression that he just couldn't be bothered.

Terrible film, terrible acting and a terrible idea to do it in the first place!

Rick is not a leader. And he loves the life style he has. Why would he want to take leap in the dark and possibly end up playing smaller venues to smalller crowds? He recognises his limitations and stays with CQ. I would say ditto for Francis. He'd have loved a solo career with another type of music but that didn't happen either. I think you've got to respect and even admire them both for sticking out this long. I do. I may not want to watch/listen to their current music but I do think it takes stamina to last the course at the level they're at this long. That's a nice way of summarising what is less kindly (and often) put as "rick just follows the money" I think fans sometimes forget that Rick very much wanted to dump CQ after FF2014 - and without thinking about the money, would have done if Francis agreed. I suspect venue sizes would be similar with either line up, but rick and Francis would earn more with CQ as the other band members are employees.

Reading your post, I see that I've lumped 2 thoughts together. Yes, I agree that Rick would have loved doing more FF gigs and if they were theatres rather than arenas, I'm sure he would have coped. But not smaller venues than that, I suspect eg: small clubs that John plays these days. But without Francis, playing with Alan and John is a huge risk, I think. eg: I'm not a fan of JC's Quo. I wanted to be but I didn't enjoy the 2 gigs I've attended enough to be a loyal follower. So would they even play theatres beyond a single tour. I'm sure many fans would give them one tour. And why I say Rick isn't a leader is because he's the most famous of the 3 of them and I think he would need to set the pace. Though I'm sure Alan would want that role. Of course given their ages, there wouldn't be that long for them anyway. But the financial risk is greater than simply switching back to FF for a tour or two.

I've just read this interview re: new album release and I loved this quote from Rick on the film Bula Quo. And then there was the Bula Quo movie. “You go as far as calling it a movie?” Rick laughs. “I’m flattered. I think it’s the second worst film I have ever seen. (It was the first until I saw Oh What a Whopper with Adam Faith). “Actually, we all thought it was quite good when we were making it, but we didn’t see the finished film until the premiere and I was a bit embarrassed when we saw it. “It’s a joke,” he says simply. So I think its safe to say that there wont be any more. link to whole article - few other nice snippets too. honest truth...me mrs bought me it..but never watched it yet...
