Funny looking at the audience here a bunch of kids visually stone bored apart from one guy really getting into it lol This must have been Roy Lynes final appearance with the band regarding tv/promo appearances?

I was lucky enough to see them play this live. I say lucky enough. I can remember very little about it. I didn't know what it was at the time - all I'd heard was Piledriver and a couple of PYE singles - and all I can really remember was this very long song that had some people up and going nuts and others sat in their seats. A split camp, as the say Of course, some of it was ultimately incorporated into the live version of Forty-Five Hundred Times, which took its place in the set. Classic stuff

Classic stuff They haven’t performed these since 1975 apart from a small snippet of Gotta go home on the frantic four reunion tour of 2014. The tv version that exists of this song(s) goes on for about nearly 30 minutes and was known to go on longer at some shows. The band obviously had funny improvising on it live.

I love all the songs on the ‘Doing Their Thing’ clip. Orange jumper man is a big favourite amongst all the bored looking kids! He can be spotted nodding his head in a few of the other DTT shows such as Deep Purple and Free! Bit early for me but I would have loved to have seen them during this era (that would make me even older though…. )

Wish they had played Gotta go home as last song instead of Bye Bye Jonny a few times. Although they would have had to worked a sing along bit into it.
