I'm hoping they play and fill small to medium sized venues with stalls standing, 3,000-5,000 capacity places like Hammersmith, Wolves Civic etc, just better for gigs in my opinion than big arenas. Get it nice and loud, get the places bouncing and really rock out, can generate a better atmosphere in these kinds of places too. Will be interesting to see what happens, I've got used to this line up as Quo now, took a couple of years, but I'm all for new material and new gigs!!!

Oh I also hope they keep that longer set time of around 1 hour 45-50mins, I enjoyed Wembley last December.

Would it still be Quo without Francis?
He'll be 75 next year. No wonder he changed the subject in the interview.
Jeff Beck was still playing brilliantly at 78 last year but he's always focused on playing and did not feel the need to dance around the stage too.

Francis doesn't run around now as much as he used to. I haven't seen them now since before lockdown, but I was counting the gradual reductions in the number of leaps in Hold You Back! PS I think he is still fitter than me. I reckon he will be out there as long as he can still say HELLO !!

Think he partly put that down to the jumping up and down on stage.

I have to hold my hands up and admit I'm getting a bit bored with gigs. All gigs really, not just Quo's. Maybe bored isn't the right word. Certainly less enthusiastic. Age plays its part of course. Same as it does with someone like Francis. I feel I've seen it all and done it all for the past 5 decades. I haven't, of course, it just feels like that. Like there's nothing left to entertain me. Nothing left to surprise me. So, in Quo's case, to watch and listen to the same old set - or certainly the bulk of it - I really can't be bothered anymore. I'll be an OAP by next summer. I'll be an OAP by this summer! I tire more easily Having said all that, I am about to contradict myself to an extent and say I've bought tickets to see Rhino's Revenge and State of Quo in Llandudno in October. Rhino's Revenge help to remind me what a gig used to be like. Basically, the way I like them. And State of Quo are always first class and I want to catch them before they pack it in. But as a wise man once said, never say never. Maybe one last hurrah is on the cards. For both of us

It's old age. I felt it creeping up a few years ago, quite a bit before I was an OAP (I am now). Covid hasn't helped either. I do finrd that a decent tribute band or other local phenomenon helps from time to time. I listen to pop radio when I am in the car, but I end up wanting to kill the DJs. never say never though. I thought Quo would be my last big band, but that was before I discovered post-apocalypse Iron Maiden. Who are nearly as old as Quo.

We could have a 40th anniversary EOTR tour with the same setlist . Of course we won’t but I can dream 😉 Cheers

I do find myself less & less bothered to go to gigs that aren't local, usually very local. Previously, I'd drive all over the place for a gig. I think it was lockdown that broke the habit for me.

Can't be bothered these days with gigs either myself... Which is a sad thing for me personally.
I've seen everyone I've always wanted to see multiple times. There's no one left. And unless Freddie or Michael come back from the dead, I'm not interested.
U2 in Dublin was always an experience with the crowd, especially indoors. The FF gigs had a great atmosphere and tribal thing. There's a real lack of that now and it kills it for me

There’s no doubt about it that age plays a big part in not going to gigs, but for me Covid and lockdown(s) and the postponements of gigs made me think is it actually worth it?

Sometimes I feel the same though, and I'm not inclined to pay large sums for ageing bands who I've seen in better days. But then suddenly someone like Joanne Shaw Taylor pops up and I am as enthusiastic as ever. Those evenings are the best.
