Still not sure why the DVD versions of this clip and WYP were released as fuzzy kinescope type clips when the original, clear video versions appear on the "Rocking Through The Years" VHS.

Always loved that song. And always curious why they never played it live ( Aquostic gigs apart that is). Someone once mentioned on the old message board that it was because the band hated it and it was in the wrong key or something. Must be a musician thing. Sounds bang on to cloth ears here

I have been described as many things but never a musician! if it was in the wrong key though, couldn't they have played it live in the correct key?

It's in the wrong key and in the wrong silly voices. Trust me, I'm a muso (ha). But it's better than Little White Lies, which is in the wrong universe.

...so, Quo songs in the Key of G or based around G
well, Lies I think ...and Down The Dustpipe Mean Girl Spinning Wheel Blues I Wonder Why Mean Girl Break The Rules Lonely Night Runaway Time to Fly Shady Lady Who Am I? Can't Be Done Like A Zombie Ain't Complaining All The Reasons Mountain Lady Little Dreamer You're Smiling Face Win or Lose The Reason for Goodbye
Some of these little ditties didn't make it to the live on-stage situation as far as I'm aware, one or two did and some were transposed possibly (?) and also part of medley city centre. 'G' isn't common in their live sets and they tend to prefer, F, A, B, C and D.
Just for the record, I really like Lies. Rossi and Frost were probably overthinking things with the Jeff Lynne and ELO-style backing vocals and a bit distracting but the underlying song works fabulously well as a single and the guitars have the right amount of crunch. That was a problem I believe as possibly the band/management had been concerned that Radio stations were playing Lies in preference to the intended A side Don't Drive My Car. I can't imagine that Rossi was too concerned though as he wasn't a fan of Don't Drive My Car in the first place. I am sure he enjoyed the songwriting royalties with how things turned out.
I hadn't heard that the band actually disliked Lies. Doesn't make sense. It didn't translate too well to the live stage in rehearsals I believe, something to do with tempo and stuff and the tendency to speed up when playing on stage.
Guitarists love a big fat G chord...it's true.
