Never took to The Ramones. My loss I guess. Whisper it in these parts, but Ramones are my most listened to artistes over the last few years, even taking a homage to NYC to see the clubs they played, where the photoshoots for the album covers were taken and visiting the locations mentioned in their lyrics.

Everyone needs heroes. And everyone has at least one. Most have several. I once met Ally McCoist at a book signing back in the early 90's. I could barely speak Mind you, I'm Scottish. I can barely speak as it is. Not coherently anyway

A very talented songwriting junkie bassist. Great party it was!! But what a glorious sound.

It's all just fast rock n roll, some of it very good. The NME A-Z of rock n roll said
"Either the worst band in the World or the true progenitors of punk rock" Wonder who they said that about?

A very talented songwriting junkie bassist. Great party it was!! But what a glorious sound. Inspired by those other pioneers of Punk, the Bay City Rollers! Dee Dee Ramone & Les McKeown, 1976. Dee Dee with the lead singer from the Bay City Rollers, the cute Scottish pin up poster boys for teen magazines like „16“ and „Tiger Beat“. Dee Dee was a huge fan of the Bay City Rollers. He envisioned himself (and the Ramones) as the next big thing - catering for the insatiable hunger of young girls on the lookout for new celebrity crushes. But it was not only the looks and aura of the Bay City Rollers the Ramones were inspired by, but also their music. According to Tommy Ramone, the band was aiming for a chant like in the 1976 BCR hit „Saturday Night“. As a result, the Ramones came up with „Hey Ho, Let‘s Go“ for „Blitzkrieg Bop“ - their first single and to this day one of their best known songs. Les McKeown passed away April 20, 2021, at the age of 65. 📸Danny Fields

Once an artiste goes after the hit singles, it all goes wrong. Do what you do, but keep up the quality control. Shame the business takes over.
