Yep. JC is the stand out for me here. I'm a big fan so no surprise really, but JC IS the Quo drummer for me. All of the Quo drummers have been top guys and were great and have/had been great for other bands/artists too but they played with/backed Quo. JC WAS Quo. Untouchable. All opinions of course, but that's mine for what it's worth. They didn't know what they had till it was gone.....

Wow, a new Quo video from the 1970s! Who'd have thought it? Fair play to ant for requesting this and I did enjoy it, but imho majorly marred by Rick's vocals, which were very much shot to pieces! What a bloody shame. I can't remember him sounding so bad and I'd say a lot of US viewers were saying 'Wtf'!! They should have gone with a Rossi vocal on the day, maybe Break the Rules, their latest single.

Watching it again I initially missed that Rick also mucks up the 2nd verse.

Our Rick must of been partying too hard the night before, lol. Still excellent, wish Rick and Alan got to see this.

Its funny...
We all waited for this and there is an air of disappointment around it.
Having said that. Instrument wise, all four were incredible! JC especially! He made it look effortless

It's baffling that a band with three vocalists should choose to make an important TV appearance with a song which is demanding at the best of times with a singer whose voice is clearly too far gone. Richard tries his best, gawd bless 'im, but it's well iffy.
If the spot demanded a five minute (or so) song then surely 'Roll Over Lay Down' would have been a more sensible choice? It would also have had the advantage of being taken from their then-current album.
Ah well, it is what it is and imperfections aside, it's a treat to have some more FF footage from the glory years.
And yes, Spud is The Man.

Loved that! OK, Rick's vocals are shot and Francis's solo is ropey in places but that's the thing; the whole point. And why the music press hated them. And very possibly why America never took to them. They were never musically perfect and huge swathes of fans, particularly in the UK, loved the band for it. Because this was rock. Proper, energised rock. No frills, no pi$$ing about. I mean, how many years before punk was this? Talk about ahead of the game. Again, a TV appearance could never capture the movement and energy of the band's live gigs but this footage is a piece of Quo history that I, for one, am glad to have seen. Respect to ant . Nice one, mate. You've achieved and helped retrieve something I presume none of the official people were interested in 👍

Raw, flawed, full of youthful energy, swagger & power - a step back in time. And oh my God! The hair! What more could you want from a piece of long lost footage?

I enjoyed it too. Thanks for posting. I always loved Quo for their vibe and energy and never for musical perfection. The hot, sweaty mess and musical exuberance. I'm smiling to myself at all those who are disappointed. Do you not wonder why this was never released before? Most likely for the reasons you are upset about. Be careful what you wish for.
