Funnily enough, we watched that at the weekend. Didn't look like my kind of thing but I enjoyed it. The cast was excellent. I dare say its a commentary on assisted dying or personal choice but also the effects of whatever choice you make on those around you. Although I'm not sure. Maybe it was just a wee tearjerker of a story and I'm reading too much into it. I really liked the flashbacks to the hedonism of youth and the 80's in particular. It seemed scarily realistic!  Martin Compston is everywhere at the moment. We've just started watching "The Rig" as well. |

Some of the acting in the rig is a wee bit wooden, the Canadian woman and the guy who fell from the radio tower. A fair few well known faces in it! |

We're on episode 4 and they're dragging it out a bit. It better be worth the wait  Like you say, a fair few well kent faces. Mark Bonnar for one. He's always good value. And that Welsh guy who crops up all over the place. Can't remember his name. Still, beats the complete nonsense of 'Silent Witness'. Never understood it's popularity. Although Mrs Mortified is a fan so I dare say I'll have to watch the next two episodes tomorrow. Mind you, she doesn't like 'River Monsters' so mustn't complain too much  |

Google "that Welsh guy" Bit of an OTT character in the show - if he was so hot headed there's no way he'd be still working on oil rigs! Some of the acting is really bad on this - overshadowed by the amazing set they built down the road in Leith. The guy who is playing Baz is terrible. |

And I guess the script or even the direction doesn't help. There's a pretty good cast in this. In fact, from what I've seen so far, we 've lost two of the best actors/characters in it already in Mark Bonnar and Emun Elliott who were both brilliant in "Guilt". And Mark Addy has just pitched up! Always The Full Monty or Thin Blue Line for me Playing what seems another stereotypical character. But we'll stick with it. Might as well now. |
