Studio run-through of Marguerita Time, from the wrongly labelled "Brixton Studios 1982 Tour Rehearsals" - which it absolutely is not
Enjoy!

That's only a little worse than the original Damn. 40 years since the bottom fell out of our world. 40 years of living with the fact that our favourite band were well and truly f*@#$d. Poor Alan. Poor us!

"Celebrating" 40 years of Back To Back isn't something I'd do I don't think. It was seriously disappointing. But I couldn't honestly say the bottom fell out of my world Not only had Quo moved on, I had to an extent as well. Certainly in a music listening sense. I've come to appreciate that Marguerita Time has a terrific melody running through it. I just didn't like the arrangement of the song, which is a bit light for my tastes. Perhaps, when all is said and done, the Montserrat decision was one of the poorest they ever made.

Sound like Francis has downed about 10 Margueritas ahead of that rehearsal. Soft spot for B2B as was my first purchased Quo album. Marguerita Time is a well constructed catchy wee Quo tune, problem being was that everything that came along for the rest of the eighties was of the same ilk which became slightly tiresome.

Thankfully, I'm able to celebrate this year as the 40th anniversary of my marriage. How Wifey has stuck it out, I don't know. Tbh, I also thought the previous album was even worse! I think they missed a trick with the End of the Road - there was a strong case to suggest they should have carried on touring & stopped recording, not the other way 'round!

"When all is said and done" what a song title this is Mort, sounds like a monster track from Nicklebonjoviback! Compare this album to anything that followed and it's a masterpiece. I played it right through while decorating a while back and thought it was a decent effort. I've being playing one or two of the post 1976 albums( that long ago, jeez) and found them better with the passing of time. It's still amazing that Ma Kelly's was released in August 1970 and just 3 years and 2 albums later Hello arrives. It's also one of my hopes that one day Damon Lyon Shaw's part in the story will be fully recognized, I've read the usual Rossi dismissals of his part in things, funny how he can remember negatives so clearly but forgets positives about others.

I'm not sure, "Enjoy" is the correct word for describing a listen to that. Though I do enjoy the finished album very much, the drunken rehearsal doesn't do much for me.

Hi Quoincidence , I think you posted this picture on the board some time ago. Do you know if there is any other proof of Quo re-recording "Bad Company" during the "Back To Back"-sessions?

I must have missed that. So, Bad Company was dropped for the abomination that is Going Down Town Tonight - whoever came up with that idea should have been shot!
