At least they did happen, eventually. Can remember pointing out on the Official Quo forum how there wasn't a whole lot of
footage around of the FF. Not long after I was surprised and happy to read that Quo would reunite again.
But why did it take so long? I mean by the time those gigs did happen Alan's health was on the way out. So much so he
had to tape the guitar pic to his fingers to keep it from falling. Yet we got to see BEL and Oh Baby performed live which for me to this day remain real standout's of songs ever performed at any Quo gig going right back to the mid 60's.
I suppose by the time the gigs did take place it was fair to say with Alan's failing health that there was no chance that the FF Quo line up could ever be resurrected again in a full time way.
Glad it happened in the end as well as believing that Alan was a bigger part of Quo than some might acknowledge.

It was bad blood and took a lot of water under the bridge for them to eventually meet up again. Did you see mortified's post in the Alan thread? statusquo.boards.net/thread/15323/alan-lancaster?page=11

Yes understand there was bad blood etc and the right trigger would have been needed.

It was no one individual, it was a combination of the four together, who for a short time made nothing but magic.

Yes once the Quo name was established the band was able to carry on with different line ups. Fleetwood Mac was able to carry on without Lindsay Buckingham. Be interesting to see what happens now with Christine Mcvie having passed.

I often drop into the Slade board and the big disappointment for Slade faithful is that there has neither been a farewell gig, a reunion gig nor a decent DVD or doco.
Quo fans are blessed.

All 4 members of Slade had in principle agreed to reunite for one final gig at Glastonbury last year but sadly Don's health problems intervened. There's always hope for this year though as Dave and Noddy are back talking as are Dave and Don .

For me the Peter Green era versus the Rumours era is Mac's equivalent of the FF classic early 70s period and then post 86 with the arrival of Rhino, the dreaded Shirley Temple and "on trend" keyboards.

I remember the tension of applying for a ticket, solved by my eldest son doing it through his 02 mobile account. The show at Hammersmith 15/03/13 was fantastic, they played Oh Baby and Blue Eyed Lady and I got to be in the room when they played April, Spring, Summer and Wednesdays. Funnily it wasn't about the return of Alan Lancaster but the sight of John Coghlan on stage again. It was the missing piece of the jigsaw, it was never the same when he got sacked even though Pete Kircher was a fine drummer.
When they came back in 86 it was like when your football team moves into a new modern stadium, it's all new and shiny but something has gone forever...the character?
