I had a gig back at the start of November and before I do gigs, I always warm up with Quo stuff on guitar, at my house. Recorded this for someone I think of as a friend, to take a look at. Was very hesitant to post anything like this on here publicly (We're all Quo nuts after all) but, what the hell...We're here to celebrate Rick Parfitt, his music and his playing and how his legacy and influence will live on That's Class

I reckon that people who do stuff in the performance side of things never really die. You can see or hear them at their best anytime, you can listen to Caruso and he is alive during the performance and he died in 1920. This has been so since the invention of recorded music.

You can see or hear them at their best anytime, you can listen to Caruso and he is alive during the performance and he died in 1920. This has been so since the invention of recorded music. This is true... I do know out of "modern artists," The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen are given as case studies in music classes and seminars around the world. Regardless of one's tastes, its very hard to argue against that. The Beatles and Michael Jackson reinvented the wheel imo and Freddie's Bohemian Rhapsody introduced elements of music and theatre that is not something anyone had seen or heard in pop music, before or since. Again, in my opinion But, every musician is gonna be influenced by another. Every sound is gonna come from someone else. Every idea be it musically or image wise, it's gonna come from something before it so, depending on the individual, an artist will live on. In Rick's case... Taking my personal feeling out of it... Every guitarist I know, encounter, talk to or meet have all said the same thing, word for word. Guitarists who have more talent in their toes than I have in my being... "Oh you're a Quo man? I never really listened to Quo but I watched Parfitt's rhythm clips on YT, where he's giving lessons? He was something else! Cannot get anywhere near him!" And we all know here that Rick wasn't exactly giving it his all in those clips There's this old saying when you're starting off playing guitar... "Learn it on acoustic and you can play it on electric" In my experience, it should be changed to, "play it like Parfitt and you can play it on anything"

I felt guilty on boxing day as i realised I had forgotten the anniversary. But then I remembered I had thought about it earlier in the month, then forgotten. Grief is like that, you get upset / remember when you do, it doesn't run to the clock. So I forgave myself and raised a belated glass
Something offical each year from the band would be a nice touch.
