Wow, like being in a time machine, Just how I remember them. I rather enjoyed the poor quality because it reminds this was 44 years ago. Like watching an old silent movie. Yep mortified, Francis truly owned that stage back then. As I watched that clip, I remembered both Wembley and Hammersmith at that time.

It's funny, because as I was watching it, I also thought of those old silent movies or newsreels. The way they captured a moment in time. Only this time, it wasn't before I was born! Which I found a bit sobering

And as I mentioned there being no proper footage of Pink Floyd from their 70's hey-day, I see they've brought out a box set of their Animals album from back then and it includes a Blu-ray of a gig which has been adapted and cleaned up from some footage that a fan took.
So I guess it can be done, although I've no idea what the quality is like. But it also emphasises the lack of professional film/video coverage from that era for many acts.

The animals boxset has no live footage or audio the clip you are on about is I believe is the footage from 1975 at Knebworth shot by French TV. Which PF used in a EPK for the Animal release
The only live footage which has surfaced from that tour is Super 8 film which a group has gone about resorting the footage and upgrading it to HD and 4K, they have done loads and for The Wall 80-81 footage as well from rare newly found Super 8 footage
1975 tour
There is even now a full The Wall show from Super 8 footage so much footage from this tour has shown up over the years and been worked on to improve it in HD

Sorry, azza200, you're right. I misread an e-mail I got. The footage in question is "a silent DVD of fan-filmed '77 tour footage" and comes with The Animals Tour: A Visual History, which is some sort of box set. I think it's a book with various bits of paraphernalia. 👍

Hey thanks for those links azza200, didn’t realise there was some decent PF on there, I’ve only got the Earls Court dvd - you reckon the quality of these Wall ones is any improvement? (To be fair, the EC dvd isn’t bad at all, imho!) 👍

(To be fair, the EC dvd isn’t bad at all, imho!) 👍 It will be an improvement as there was an attempt to clean up the EC footage but there is still no master tape found only 3rd gen which got the HD treatment. Its better then what was before. The only good upgrade of pro shot footage was this which was found and upgraded from the master beta tape
