Read a review saying perhaps the book should have focused just on the 70-76 period, as the author seems to dislike everything from the band thereafter with a passion. I have a copy of Graeme Stroud's 'Quo Song by Song' somewhere in the bookcase.
There seems to be a plethora (thought I would jump on the bandwagon and use that word as seems to be a current favourite word from journalists and pundits) of related books out there these days covering and appraising the music by many bands.
I see a new one is due to be published this month 'Status Quo in the 80s: Decades' by Greg Harper. I'm awaiting delivery of Mike Hodges 'Backwater'. No preconceptions but hopefully will learn something new or at least a different angle from the official versions of events.

Yeah there seems to have been a 'plethora' of Quo books in the last decade. It seems they have come thick and fast more recently, the first real one having been '79 i think when it was just a trickle.
A lot of higher-end ones recently too. Maybe someone could compile a complete list! I'm sure most of them are still available, Quotographs being the only one that comes to mind as being rare.

This book apparantly states how may chords each song has. I'm looking forward to that.
Wonder what % will be 3 or less?

POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT - If you're waiting for the book..
Anybody care to guess how many songs actually consist of just three chords according to the book? (Ma Kelly's through to Back to Back)
And secondly; which song has the highest total of chords at 15 during the same period.
Peeking at the book not allowed π

Got mine and have had a really good look
Won't do spoilers but it's worth buying, if only for the statistics at the end which may give us plenty to talk about!
I'm sure this guy used to be on the old board, I felt like I'd read some of his individual song reviews before. He's very much a MKGS to BFY guy, but loves WYW and has some unexpected soft spots for some of the later stuff. Mostly he's scathing
Every song upto and including BTB are reviewed.
Some of the reviews have an interesting dynamic as this guy is clearly a musician. Balanced it is not, expect strong views π

Might not be my thing. I don't even know what a chord is .. it's what Thick Lizzy is using to hang herself with! [Yeah, yeah - I know it's a 'cord'... but still - would she know the difference??]
