Genuinely feel strong about this (and Don't Mind If I Do)
How or why was this treated like crap?? I love this song because it feels like a band and there is a feeling to it. It's a Quo classic in my book.
I remember they done ASU and this on the NSN tour. ASU was different. It felt like a new song. Solid Gold, when they played it, it just slotted in like a Quo track. It was so seemless and was like silk on the ear! Each band member got into it and delivered!
Appalling decision to drop it!

I think the song is a gem. A modern classic. But I remember many on the old message board thinking it was too similar to Roll Over Lay Down, although I could never see it myself. Same tempo but that's about it. And really just like many other Quo tracks. It also has a superb solo by Francis and a terrific hook of a chorus Yep, I'm in

Not sure why this was dropped quickly considering the oriental had been in the set for 20 years now and only track they do now from this high regarded album. Regarding the actual recording maybe a few things could have been brought up a bit in mix and not keen on the fade out and the live version was better actually ending the song.

Francis’ voice wasn’t reliable on the first line -I think that maybe played a part in why it didn’t stay

Not a fan of the album, but this song is one of a few on the album that I really do like

The Never Say Never tour, which previewed these two songs, was really unusual in that it really did whet the appetite for what was to come. I don't think that had ever happened before (I don't count Restless ). And it didn't happen again until Liberty Lane and Cut Me Some Slack. Maybe the preview of the Under The Influence album before the band came on was similar. And it's a good move. Certainly for long standing fans who craved something new. Or at least a bit different. I stand by the view that, if it hadn't been for Heavy Traffic, whatever anyone thought of it - good or bad - Quo may not still be around today. It was that important.

Credit where credit is due, its a cracker of a song. Right song for the band at the right time with somewhat of a renaissance with the HT album and image - they got it spot on. Comeback album, looking like a credible rock band again (finally!) and a great live set. Love the ending live with AB on harmonica. Would love to hear another minute of that.

I genuinely never played it on guitar before. I'm out on the piss right now. Tomorrow, I'll post a video of me playing this song to show how easy it is to do it and put it in the setlist so this "Oh we tried" excuse can be put to bed
Criminal!

It wasn’t the guitar playing that was the issue, it was Francis’ singing. For some reason the first line was a struggle 👍

They have done songs and continue to do songs where Francis struggles, so I ain't buying that at all as a reason. If I had the gear, I'd sing the first note. It is absolutely far away from the highest note Francis has hit. Case in point, Restless... Not saying that was high, just shit. Still persisted with it
